CAMPBELL	George (Jnr)	Boiler Maker	1886: George Campbell (Jnr), boiler maker. Born 9th July 1886 in Auckland, New Zealand. He was the youngest son of brass moulder George (Snr) & Christina Campbell. When George (Jnr) enlisted for the Reserves, WW1, it was stated "A boilermaker and can do all sorts of engineering" George (Jnr) died 11th November 1918 in Wellington NZ. Children: Martha 20yrs; Francis 18yrs (a moulder); Fanny 16yrs; Alfred 15yrs; James 12yrs; Arthur 8yrs. In 1881 William is 66yrs, at Northry Street, Linchhouse, Tower Hamlets, London; with wife Mary 60yrs. Children: a daughter listed as ?James ,22yrs, unmarried (seamstress); son Arthur 20yrs. Nephew Thomas hardy 28yrs (coppersmith) and nephew Frederick Hardy 5yrs. William worked in Poplar probably in shipbuilding. He moved to Handsworth, Stafford about 1858 then back to Poplar. In 1871 Thompson (Thomas) is 17yrs, lodging with Thomas Dillon 26yrs (chimmey sweeper) and his family in Liverpool. The 1881 UK census lists Thompson as living at 28 Back Rathbone Street in Liverpool, and probably working in the docks in Liverpool. He was married to Elizabeth and they had 8 children. ROWLEY	Robert Ernest	Boiler Maker,Blacksmith	1850: Robert Ernest Rowley , blacksmith and boiler maker. Robert was born in Manchester c1850 and came to Australia in the 1880s. He died in Melbourne in January 1915. He ran a Blacksmith business with his wife, Helen, in Spotswood from about 1893 until his death. Also listed in the Boiler Makers Index. Contact Colin by.

SKELLY	Charles	Boiler Maker, Blacksmith	1821: Charles Skelly, Blacksmith, boiler maker. OPR Marriage record shows Charles Skelly Smith in Port Glasgow and Ann Leggat residing there. Charles son John (1) born in Port Glasgow was also a Blacksmith - Boiler Maker as shown on the 1841 Scotland Census. Charles is also listed in the Blacksmiths of Scotland Index. John Skelly (1) (born 1822)is also in many editions of Pigot's Directory. Of John Skelly's sons, John (2) (born 1853) also became a boiler maker and Alexander (born 1861 -my great Grandfather is shown as a Marine Engineer on the 1881 Scotland Census). I believe that John's (2) son Thomas also became a Boiler Maker Journeyman.
