John Galvin O'Connell
John Galvin O'Connell was born 1829 in County Kerry, Ireland. Nothing is known of his family of origin.
He emigrated in the early 1850s. It is unknown where he lived before the end of the 1850s when he lived in Brown Township, Delaware County, Ohio.
John Galvin O'Connell married Mary Ann Pyles on the 9th of April, 1861 at St. Mary's Church, Delaware, Ohio.
Living in Brown Township, Delaware County Ohio is a David O'Connell. It is likely David is the brother or cousin of John G. O'Connell. Also living in Brown Township was Johanna O'Connell Kelleher (husband Martin). A relationship to John exists, but whether it is sister or cousin is not known. Johanna and her husband later moved to Belle Plaine, Minnesota and the Kellehers were the godparents of Sylvester.
Four of the children were born in Brown Township: Mary Agnes, 1861; Ellen T., 1864; John W., 1866; and Elizabeth, 1867.
The O'Connells moved to Le Sueur County, Minnesota about 1870. They settled in Derrynane Township. Children born in Minnesota were: David T., 1870; Daniel, 1874 and Sylvester, 1878.

Ellen Theresa (1864-1961) married Cornelius Ronayne, son Patrick Ronayne and Catherine Regan. Their children were Mary A., John J., Cornelius J. (III), and Joseph.
John W. (1866-1959) married Catherine O'Connell, daughter of Michael O'Connell and Mary Slattery. Their children were Thomas and Francis.
Elizabeth (1867-1957) married Dennis C. Ronayne. Their children were Catherine, Patrick B., Joseph C., Rose and Mame.
David T. O'Connell (1870-1952) married Margaret J. Doherty, daughter of James Doherty and Ann Heatherston. Their children were Mary Alice, Ann Mary, John Gregory, James Joseph and Dorothy Helen.
Daniel remained single.
Sylvester G. married Margaret Loretta Murray, daughter of Michael Murray and Margaret Sullivan. They had one child: Lucille.
