 Know all Men by these Presents, That Dubart M. Taylor of Vallis Mines In the County of  St. Francois and State of Missouri and principal, and John B. Bell   & B. L. Floyd of the County of _(blank)_ in the same State as securities, hereby acknowledge, ourselves to be held and firmly bound unto the United States of America, in the sum of Two Thousand Dollars, for the payment of which well and truly to be made, we hereby bind ourselves and each of our heirs executors, administrators, and assigns, firmly by these presents.

 

      Sealed with our seals and dated this   28th day of November A. D. 1864.

 

   The Condition of the above Obligation is such, That whereas, the above bounden:

 Dubart M. Taylor has this day obtained permission from the Assistant Provost Marshall of the_______Sub-District, St. Louis, Military District of Missouri, to keep quinine, calomel, Peruvian bark, opium and its compounds, patent medicines, wines and liquors, and salt, for sale At __(blank)__ in the said State of Missouri. 
Now, if the said Dubart M. Taylor wwill not sell any of the above named articles, except to persons having written permission from an Assistant Provost Marshall, within the St.. Louis Military District of Missouri, or such other officers as may be designated by the District Commander, and then not in quantities exceeding the amount specified in the permit, then this obligation to be void, otherwise to remain in full force and effect.

 

     And it is hereby Understood and Agreed that in case said
Dubart M. Taylor

 

shall be found guilty of violating, willfully or negligently himself or by his agents, the conditions then, in addition to the remedy hereon by civil law, upon conviction of the said


    Dubart M. Taylor

 

by any tribunal, civil or military, duly constituted, any officer  in the military service acting under orders from the Department or District Head Quarters, may seize and sell or otherwise dispose of , any property of the above named obligors to an amount sufficient to satisfy the penalty of this obligation.
