WARD COLGROVE
The funeral service for (Bruce) Ward Colgrove, 84, Michigan City, will be at 1:30 pm tomorrow at Carlisle Funeral Home, with the Rev. George A. Bowie officiating.
Mr. Colgrove died at 6:25 am yesterday (June 5, 1985) at Red Oaks Health Care Center after a lengthy illness.
Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery, Glidden, Iowa. Friends may call at the funeral home tomorrow from noon until the service.
Mr. Colgrove was born Sept. 28, 1900 in Wilmette, IL to Edward Colgrove and Esther Ward Colgrove. He was retired board chairman and president of Leonard's Guide. His wife, Muriel A. Young, died Feb. 6, 1979.
Surviving is a son, Bruce W. Colgrove, Lake Forest, IL.;two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. A sister is deceased.
Mr. Colgrove was a member of the Masons and of Orak Temple.
The family requests that memorials be given to the American Cancer Society.

FLORENCE WITTE, 87, Michigan City, died at 6:25 am Saturday (Jan. 2, 1988) at Red Oaks Health Care Center after a lengthy illness.
The funeral will be at 1:00 pm tomorrow at the Carlisle Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert L. Livingston will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Friends may call from 7-9 pm today, and until the service tomorrow at the funeral home.
Mrs. Witte was born March 3, 1900 in Michigan City, the daughter of Louis and Augusta Wolgast Heuck. On Aug. 10, 1920, in Michigan City, she married August E. Witte, who died May 9, 1950.
Surviving are two daughters, Loraine Pomranke, Michigan City, and Margene Bard, Cicero, IN.; and six grandchildren.
Mrs. Witte was a clerk at the Ladies Shop and Hirsch's Department Store. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, the women's guild of the church and the Order of Eastern Star. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the church.

DOLORES L. ESSLING, 75, Michigan City, died at 2:35 am Saturday (July 24, 1993) at her home following an illness.
A Memorial Mass will be announced later. A donation to Indiana University Medical Center will be conducted. Upon completion of Anatomical Study, cremation will take place and ashes buried in Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis. Ott/Haverstock (MIchigan City) is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Essling was born Aug. 9, 1917 in Detroit, the daughter of George Chilvers and Mary Dopkowski.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. JoAnn Phillips, Michigan City; two sons, Jack Essling, Kentwood, MI.;and William Essling, Wyoming, MI.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Carol Anderson, New York; one brother, William Chilvers, McHenry, IL.; and beloved companion, Jack Brady, Michigan City. One son, Kenneth Essling, is deceased.
Mrs. Essling was a retired service representative with Indiana Bell. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Telephone Pioneers of America, RSVP, Senior Citizens of Washington Park, and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.
Memorials may be made to St. Anthony Hospice or to the Michigan City Humane Society.

The funeral will be at 1:00 pm Monday at Carlisle Funeral Home (MIchigan City, IN) Burial will be at West Lebanon Cemetery, West Lebanon (IN).
Friends may call from 2 to 8 pm Sunday and Monday until the time of service at Carlisle Funeral Home.
Mrs. Crawford was born June 2, 1918 in West Lebanon, the daughter of Orval C. Bush and Gladys Whitten Bush.
She is survived by a daughter, Judith C. Perry; her husband, Allen Perry, of Chicago; a sister, Nellie Madge Clay, Springfield, Ohio; and a brother, John Reed Bush, Lafayette, IN. She was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Marie Rudolph.
Mrs. Crawford was aan assistant secretary at First Federal for more than 25 years, retiring in 1984. She was a member of Kappa Delta Phi Sorority and the Flying Carpet organization.

The funeral for Edwin G. Reetz, 75, Michigan City, will be at St. John's United Church of Christ at 11:00 am Monday. Mr. Reetz died at 4:30 am yesterday (June 1, 1990) at his home after a lengthy illness. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Carlisle Funeral Home from 2-5 and 6-8 pm tomorrow and from 10:00 am until the service Monday at the church.
Mr. Reetz was born March 19, 1915, in Michigan City, the son of Herman and Effie Clossen Reetz. On Sept. 28, 1940, in Michigan City, he married Kathleen R. Jantzen, who survives.
Also surviving are one granddaughter, Kim Allmon; two great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Lewis Reetz, Mesa, AZ., and John reetz, Michigan City. A son, Ronald Reetz, died in 1965.
Mr. Reetz retired in 1978 as a labor estimator for Pullman-DStandard with 33 years of service. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ and he was a Sunday School teacher and devotional chairman of St. John's Family Fellowship for many years. He was also a member of the Senior Citizens Center.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church, American Cancer Society or Home Health care Services.

CHESTERTON, IN.   RONALD LEE REETZ, 24, 418 N. Eighth St., died at 7 am today at Porter Memorial Hospital, Valparaiso (IN) after an illness of five months. Death was caused by lukemia.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Thursday at St. John's United Church of Christ with Rev. Sanford Sourers officiating. Burial will be in Chesterton Cemetery. Friends may call at the Carol Edmonds Funeral Home from 2 pm Wednesday until Thursday noon when the body will be taken to the church.
A draftsman at Clark Equipment Co., Michigan City, Mr. Reetz was born July 24, 1941 in Michigan City, the son of Edwin G. and kathleen Jantzen Reetz. On April 20, 1963, he was married to Lila Swoverland who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Kimberly Sue, at home, and his parents who live in Michigan City. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ and was choir director until he became ill.

JAMES W. FREHSE, 49, Winterhaven, FL, former area businessman, died yesterday (Aug. 14, 1979) at 7:15 am, at Winterhaven Hospital.
Funeral service will be at Mitchell Funeral Home, Winterhaven at 6 pm tomorrow. Cremation will follow,
Mr. Frehse was born here (MIchigan City, IN) Dec. 15, 1929, to Florence and Morrill Frehse. He was married to Marvel Ann Schlunz, who survives in Sarasota, FL. Also surviving is one child, Mark, Winterhaven.
Mr. Frehse was a member of Michigan City Elks Lodge, and former owner of the Eden House Restaurant. He was employed as vice president of Duncan Brewing Co., Auburndale, FL. The family suggests memorials be donated to the Heart Fund.

HAZEL L. DeROLF, 74, Michigan City, formerly of Hammond, IN., died at 5 am yesterday (Feb. 24, 1986) at her residence.
The funeral will be at 10:30 am Thursday at the Huber Funeral Home, Hammond. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond (IN). Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm tomorrow at the Carlisle Funeral Home, Michigan City, and from 9 am Thursday until the service at the Huber Funeral Home.
Mrs. DeRolf was born March 5, 1911, in Dennis, KS, the daughter of Charles Joseph and Ida Rose Wicklund Healey. She had lived in Michigan City since 1963. On Aug. 26, 1945, in Hammond, she married Raymond DeRolf, who died in 1972.
Surviving are a son, Larry DeRolf, Michigan City; two stepsons, Donald DeRolf, Hammond, and Richard DeRolf, Ocala, FL.; a stepdaughter, Joann Schubert, Boca Raton, FL.; 13 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Carl Healey, Arlington, TX.; and two sisters, Viloet Lovett and Ellen Mosley, both of Oaklahoma City, OK. A son, Bruce, a stepson, Raymond, and a brother, Russell Healey, are deceased.
Mrs. DeRolf was a member of First Baptist Church, Hammond, and the Michigan City Senior Center. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Senior Center.

EUNICE M. YANKEE FLITTER, Michigan City, died at 8 pm yesterday (Dec. 11, 1989) at St. Anthony Hospital.
The funeral will be at St. Mary of the Immaculaate Conception Church at 10:00 am Thursday. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery (Michigan City, IN)
Friends may call at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel from 7 to 9 tomorrow and from 8 to 9:30 am Thursday. The rosary will be recited at the funeral chapel a 8 pm tomorrow.
Mrs. Flitter was born in Michigan City, the daughter of Anton and Theresa Riechel Yankee. On June 27, 1933, in Michigan City, she married Phillip Flitter, who died Jan. 18, 1944. Surviving are one sister, Jean Grott, Michigan City, and two nephews, Wayne Kemker, LaPorte, and Ronald Kemker, Henderson, NV. Two sisters, Dorothy Kemker and Bernardine Frisinger, are deceased.
Mrs. Flitter was a retired clerk and had worked at Blackmon(d) Jewelry for 6 1/2 years and Best Jewelry for 1 1/2 years. She was a member of St. Marys Church and the Rosary Sodality of the church.

Members of the Moose Lodge 980 will conduct a memorial service at 7:30 pm tomorrow at the funeral home.
Mr. Thompson was born Oct. 13, 1909, in Parke County, IN, the son of Marion and Naomi Tuttle Thompson. He was a resident of Michigan City for 49 years. On July 22, 1930, in Vincennes, IN., he married Treva G. Mallett, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, James Thompson, Michigan City, four granddaughters, Linda Sobecki, Sue Moss, and Jane and Karen Thopson, all of Michigan City; and three great-grandchildren. Three brothers and a sister are deceased.
Mr. Thompson was co-owner of Thompson's Barber Shop for 40 years. He was a member of Moose Lodge 980.
