David S. Underwood
     David Simpson Underwood died Sunday at 9:15 a.m. at his home in Quincy, KY. He was 45 years of age and is survived by his widow, Mrs. Leona Huff Underwood and three children, Jesse, Lorene and Ralph. One brother, J. O. Underwood, Herman, Minn., also survives. He was formerly an employe of the Wheeling Steel Corp., Portsmouth. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Quincy M. E. church where he was a faithful member. Rev. W. H. Muncie in charge and burial in Quincy cemetery, [unreadable] J. H. Morton and son Fullerton, Ky., in charge.

Mrs. Lena Utt
     Graveside services for Mrs. Lena Utt were held Monday, December 3, 1984 at 1 p.m. at the Morgan Cemetery. The Rev. Howard Wilson officiated. Dickerson funeral Home in Vanceburg was in charge of arrangements.
     Mrs. Utt, 94, a former resident of Head of Grassy, died Thursday, November 29, 1984 at a Tampa nursing home in Tampa, Florida.
     Mrs. Utt was born March 31, 1890, a daughter of the late Taylor and Sena Orcutt Stamper of Lewis County. She was the wife of the late Elmer J. Utt.
     Survivors include a son, Donald E. Utt, Sr., of Tampa; six grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
     She was preceded in death by a son, Wilburt Utt, and two brothers Joe and Tommie Stamper.

Mrs. Clyde Van Bibber
     Mrs. Angela Lewis Van Bibber, 32, of Lynn, Ky., died at 11:30 a.m. Sunday at King’s Daughter’s Hospital at Ashland. She was the wife of Clyde Van Bibber.
     Born in Lewis County, Ky., July 29, 1931, she was a daughter of Fred and Grace Felty Lewis.
     Surviving are her parents who reside at Firebrick, Ky., her husband; a son Clyde and a daughter Sharon Sue, both at home; and three brothers, Douglas, Dale and Troy, all of Firebrick.
     She was preceded in death by two brothers.
     Mrs. Van Bibber was a member of Order of Eastern Star in South Shore.
     Funeral services are to be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Roberson Funeral Home, with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Rev. M. G. Moyer is to officiate.
     Friends may call at the funeral home. Eastern Star services are to be at 7:30 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Anna VanBibber
     Greenup , March 15 -- Mrs. Anna VanBibber, 79, widow of the late L. M. VanBibber, died today at 4 a.m. at the home of a son, Amos, at South Ashland where she had been for the last two weeks.
     Beside the son at whose home she died, Mrs. VanBibber is survived by these children: Ferris, Morris and Mrs. Bess Kendall, all of Greenup, Cyrus of Argone rd. Portsmouth, Raymond of Washington, D.C., Mrs. Eunice Slater of Williamson, W Va., Vernon and Mrs. Ruth Garvey of Warnock, Miss Louise VanBibber at home.
     Funeral services will be held at Warnock Sunday at 1 p.m. Rev. Ned Waring of Sciotoville officiating with burial in the Van Bibber cemetery under the direction of Stapf-Mitchell Funeral home.

     South Portsmouth, Ky. -- Mrs. Avis English Van Bibber, 86, of South Portsmouth, died Saturday at Scioto Memorial Hospital in Portsmouth, Ohio, after a long illness.
     A Greenup County native and a longtime member of South Portsmouth Methodist Church, she was a former Greenup County school teacher.
     Preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Morton VanBibber, in 1973, she is survived by six sons, Earl, Ray, Harold and Dale, all of South Portsmouth, Morton W. of Dayton, Ohio, and Claude of Portsmouth; two daughters, Hazel Trimble of South Portsmouth, and Avis Tolliver of Pontiac, Mich; a brother, Owen English of Portsmouth; a sister Margaret Locklin of South Portsmouth; 26 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
     Services are planned at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at Roberson Funeral Home at South Shore, with interment in Collier Memorial Gardens.

     Carl L. VanBibber, 75, of Sciotoville Rt. 4, died Tuesday, at Mercy Hospital.
     A native of Greenup County, Ky., and a retired section foreman for the Baltimore & Ohio Railway, he was a member of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees.
     Surviving are his wife, Goldie Marie Thompson VanBibber; two daughters, Mrs. Norma Murphy of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Mrs. Carol Crabtree of Lucasville, Rt. 1; a brother Timothy VanBibber of Quincy, Ky.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
     Services are planned at 2 p.m. Friday at Don Wolfe Funeral Home in Sciotoville with Rev. Robert Ryder officiating and burial in Floral Hills Memory Garden.
     Friends may call at the Funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. tonight and 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday.

     Mrs. Cassie Kiser Van Bibber, 92, of Louisville, Ky., died Sunday at a hospital there after an extended illness.
     A native of Carter County Ky., she was of the Baptist faith.
     Preceded in death by her husband, William M. VanBibber, in 1951; she is survived by several nieces and nephew.
     Service is 1 p.m. Tuesday at Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Ky., with the Rev. Jim Foster officiating, and interment in Corns Cemetery at Greenup, Ky.
     Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until the service Tuesday.

     Charles Wesley Van Bibber, 77, retired minister of the Christian church, died of jaundice, early this morning at his home in Bennett, Ky.
     He is survived by his wife, Telitha, and his surviving children, H. W. Van Bibber of Sciotoville, M. A. of Sought Portsmouth, William of Greenup, Mrs. Matilda Hall of Warnock, Ky., Mrs. Lola Carter of Nicholasville, Ky., Mrs. Martha Hamilton of Carey’s Run, Charles Jr. of the U. S. army, stationed at Ft. Dix, N. J, Marie Versal and Louise of Portsmouth, Edith and Robert at home and two brothers, John of Quincy and Harve of Lansing, Mich.
     The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Felty cemetery with burial under direction of Morton funeral home.

VAN BIBBER YOUTH DIES IN HAWAII [Chester Carl Van Bibber]
     Greenup, Ky., Nov. 8. – Mr. and Mrs. Ferris Van Bibber of Greenup were notified last night that their son Carl Van Bibber, 24, had died at 3:55 o’clock yesterday afternoon in Honolulu, H. I. Death was due to pneumonia which developed after a spinal injury suffered while he was playing football Friday.
     Mr. Van Bibber, a private, was stationed in Hawaii with the U. S. Army.
     He was a member of the 1934 class at Greenup high school and formerly was a star halfback and track athlete at Greenup high.
     The body will be brought here for burial.
     He leaves his parents and two brothers, Charles, who is a member of the U. S. aviation corps in Hawaii, and Homer, who is stationed at Fort Thomas, Ky.

Rev. Claude VanBibber
     Reverend Claude C. VanBibber, 71, of Portsmouth, went to be with his heavenly father, Tuesday, March 6, 2001. Born Oct. 2, 1929, he is survived by his wife of 46 years, Lovell (Arthur) VanBibber; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Tammi VanBibber and Dwight and Christine VanBibber of Florida; and one daughter and son-in-law, Ruthie and Steve Haffner of Portsmouth. He is preceded in death by his parents, Reverend Morton and Avis (English) VanBibber; three brothers, Earl, Paul and Dale VanBibber; one sister, Ruth Eleanor VanBibber; and a sister-in-law, Mary Jo French. He is survived by one grandson, Craig Miller of Portsmouth and four granddaughters, Heather Haffner of Portsmouth and Stephanie, Elizabeth and Melissa VanBibber, all of Florida. Surviving are two sisters and brothers-in-law, Hazel and Neville Trimble of South Portsmouth, Ky., and Avis and Homer Tolliver of Michigan; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Morton and Betty Van Bibber of Dayton, Ray and Janet VanBibber of South Portsmouth and Harold and Sharon VanBibber of Florida; sisters-in-law, Charlotte and Janie VanBibber of South Portsmouth and Juanita Van Bibber of North Carolina; and one brother and sister-in-law, David and Sharon Arthur of Mansfield. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
     Reverend VanBibber was Pastor of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church in Ewing, Ky., and a local businessman. He was owner of VanBibber Realty, retried from Cyclops Steel Corporation and served in the Korean conflict as a Corporal in the U.S. Army. He received his Bachelor of Theology Degree from International Seminary and attended Berea Bible College, Ohio University and Shawnee State University. He also served as Lay Minister in various churches in the tri-state area and also enjoyed a music ministry. A 1948 graduate of South Portsmouth High School, he held a great love and devotion for his family and was very much loved and respected. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be remembered for his gentle nature and kindness to all who knew him. The family’s favorite charities are the Diabetes Foundation and the American Cancer Society.
     Visitation will be at Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Ky., from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour Thursday. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Rev. James Loy officiating. Burial will be at Collier Memorial Gardens, with Military graveside services by the James L. Flannery American Legion Post 276.

HIS NECK BROKEN [Cyrus Van Bibber]
     Fatal Fall of Clink Vanbibber at Greenup, Ky.Greenup, Ky., Sept. Sept. 20—Clink Vanbibber, aged 75, fell out of an apple tree at his home on Hood’s Run and broke his neck this morning. He was deputy sheriff of this county back in the 40’s and when the town got its name as Hangtown for hanging so many people.

Cyrus Van Bibber
     Cyrus Bennett Van Bibber, 60, of 2417 Argonne Rd., died at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Mercy Hospital where he had been a patient since Sunday.
     Born Sept. 39 (sic), 1894, in Warnock, Ky., he was a son of LaMard and Annie Laurie Hill Van Bibber. Mr. Van Bibber had been a Portsmouth resident 34 years..
     He was an employee of the Midland Grocery Co., for 20 years. Mr. Van Bibber was married in 1920 to Lorena Warnock.
     Surviving, in addition to his wife are two daughters, Mr. Howard Warren, 1208 22nd St. and Mrs. Leonard Sluss of Ashland, Ky.; a son Eugene of Cincinnati; three sisters, Mrs. Owen Kendall of Greenup, Mrs. Arthur Garvey of Warnock, Ky., and Mrs. Ben Slater or Williamson, W. Va.; six brothers, Vernon of Warnock, Maruice of Lynn, Fred of Columbus, Ferris of Greenup, Amos of Ashland and Raymond of Washington, D.C, and four grandchildren.
     Mr. Van Bibber was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.
     Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Brock Funeral Home, with Rev. W. D. Brock officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park.

     Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Janie Tucker VanBibber; two sons, Christopher Dale and Jeffrey David, and a daughter, Julie Lee, all at home; five brothers, Earl, Ray, and Harold, all of South Portsmouth, Morton of Dayton, and Claude of Portsmouth; and two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Trimble of South Portsmouth and Mrs. Avis Tolliver of Pontiac, Mich.
     Service is at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Ky., with Rev. Kenny Fox officiating, and interment in Collier Memorial Gardens.

     Mrs. VanBibber was born Jan. 4, 1921, in Boyd County.
     Her husband, Timothy VanBibber, preceded her in death.
     Funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday at Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, with minister Garold Vaughn officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery at Quincy.

     Earl Wesley Van Bibber, 68, of South Portsmouth, Ky., died Sunday, May27, 1990, at Scioto Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
     A son of the late Rev. Morton and Avis Engish VanBibber, born Nov. 3, 1921, in Portsmouth, he was retired from Western-Southern Life Insurance Co., and was a World War II Army Air Force veteran, a member and past master of Harrison-Fullerton, (Ky.) Masonic Lodge, a member and elder of South Portsmouth Christian Church, a Kentucky colonel, and a member of Portsmouth Carpenters Union Local.
     Surviving are his wife, Charlotte Redder VanBibber; two daughters, Karen Walburn of Sciotoville and LeaAnn Van Bibber of South Portsmouth; four brothers, Morton VanBibber of Dayton, Claude VanBibber of Portsmouth, and Ray VanBibber and Harold VanBibber, both of South Portsmouth; two sisters, Hazel Timble of South Portsmouth and Avis Tolliver of Pontiac, Mich.; and a grandson.
     Service is 11 a.m. Wednesday at Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Ky., with the Rev. Harley Johnson and the Rev. Vernon Oakley officiating, and interment in Siloam Cemetery at South Shore Route 1 with Military graveside rites by James L. Flannery Post American Legion.
     Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until the service Wednesday at the funeral home, where a Masonic service is planned at 7:30 Tuesday.

Mrs. Emma Van Bibber
     Mrs. Emma Van Bibber, aged 36 years, wife of Charles Van Bibber, a Brushart, Lewis county, Ky., farmer, died at Hempstead hospital Tuesday morning at two o’clock from the effects of a surgical operation she underwent Sunday afternoon.
     Mrs. Van Bibber was admitted to the hospital Saturday noon.. She was taken ill with typhoid fever several weeks ago, later developing abscess of the kidney.
     Mrs. Van Bibber was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Lowder of Quincy, Ky., who died suddenly within a few hours of each other last April a year ago. She was married to Mr. Van Bibber 28 years ago. She leaves seven children: Harrison, Morton, William, Matilda, Bessie and Lola, at home and Mrs. Martha Hall, of Tygart Valley. Surviving brothers and sisters are: J. D., H. W. and A. M. Lowder of Quincy and George Lowder, who is in the U. S. regular army and stationed at Fort Douglass, Arizona, Mrs. Matilda Felty of Tygart Valley and Mrs. Mary Willis of Garrison, Kentucky.
     Mrs. Van Bibber was a member of the Christian church.
     The remains were shipped over the C. & O. Tuesday afternoon to Brushart, where the funeral will take place Wednesday morning at 11 o’clock.

     Mrs. Goldie Mae Thompson VanBibber, 79, of Sciotoville, Ohio 140, died Thursday at Scioto Memorial Hospital.
     A native of Wellston, and a member of the International Pentecostal Church of Christ, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Luther VanBibber, Aug. 4, 1981.
     Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Jean Murphy of Columbus and Mrs. Carol Crabtree of Arlington, Texas; a sister Mrs. Ruth Tipton of Colonial Heights, Va.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
     Service is 2 p.m. Sunday at Don Wolfe Funeral Home in Sciotoville, with the Rev. Gary L. Shonkwiler officiating and interment in Floral Hills Memory Garden.
     Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, and from noon until the service Sunday.

     Harrison W. VanBibber, 76, of 2129 Mabert Rd., was pronounced dead on arrival at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday at Mercy Hospital, following an apparent heart attack.
     A native of Greenup County, Ky., he was a retired Detroit Steel Corp. employe, and a member of Southern Baptist Church.
     Surviving are his widow, Nettie Williams VanBibber; two sons, Cebert of Sciotoville and Harrison Jr. of Cincinnati; a brother, Morton of South Portsmouth; two half brothers, Jim of Dayton, and Charles of Mountain View, Mo.; two sisters, Mrs. Matilda Hall, 1221 Ninth St., and Mrs. Martha Hamilton of West Portsmouth; two half sisters, Miss Versel VanBibber of Quincy, Ky., and Mrs. Louise Bloomer of Sciotodale; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
     Services are to be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Daehler Funeral Home, with Rev. Otis Holmes officiating. Burial is to be in Memorial Burial Park.

Greenup, Feb. 8 – Miss Irma Louise Van Bibber, 33, daughter of the late L. M. and Anna Van Bibber, died at her home last night in Warnock following a two weeks illness.
     Surviving are these brothers and sisters; Mrs. Bess Kendall of Greenup, Silas of Portsmouth, Morris of Lynn, Fred of Columbus, Amos of Ashland, Ferris of Williamson, W. Va., Raymond of Washington, D.C., and Vernon of Warnock.
     Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the home with Rev. E. T. Waring of Sciotoville officiating. Burial will be in the home cemetery under the Direction of Stapf & Mitchell.

Mrs. John VanBibber
     Funeral services for Mrs. Janey Melissa VanBibber, 71, will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. at Quincy Christian Church. Rev. Karl Chapman is to officiate.
     Mrs. VanBibber died Thursday at 10 a.m. at the home of a son, William Shepherd of Load. She was a lifelong resident of Greenup and Lewis Counties, Ky. In 1901 she was married to Wilson Shepherd who preceded her in death.
     She is survived by her husband, John VanBibber; six children, Mrs. Mae Watkins of Urbana, Mrs. Nellie Bradley of Tipp City, Carman Shepherd of New Boston, William of Load, Mrs. Ruth Stephens of Argillite, Mrs. Inez Stanley of Wheelersburg; 37 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters.
     Burial will be in Quincy Cemetery under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home. The body is at the home of William Shepherd of Load.

John W. VanBibber
     Vanceburg, Sept, 18 – Funeral services for John Wesley VanBibber, 73, who died at his home at Quincy Saturday at 6 p.m. will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Quincy Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Plummer Funeral Home.
     The body will remain at the residence until the funeral hour.
     Mr. VanBibber died of acute indigestion after an illness of a few hours.
     He was born in Greenup County March 10, 1877, a son of James and Polly VanBibber. A retired farmer he leaves these children; Mrs. Pearl Jacobs of Springfield, Carl Van Bibber and Mrs. Rosie Fisher of Portsmouth, Timothy of Quincy and Mrs. Emma Bloomfield of Garrison.
     His first wife, Mrs. Polly Jane VanBibber passed away 28 years ago. The second wife, Mrs. Janie VanBibber, passed away last February.
     Surviving are a brother, Harve of Michigan, and a sister Mrs. Mary Colley of Garrison.

L. M. VANBIBBER, WELL KNOWN IN GREENUP PASSES
Was One Of the County’s Prominent Farmers
HAD HEART ATTACK
     Greenup, Ky., Aug. 21 – The entire community here was shocked to learn of the death of L. M. Vanbibber, 70, one of Greenup county’s most prominent farmers, who passed away at his home at Hoods, Ky., late yesterday afternoon after an illness of only two days. During his lifetime, Mr. Vanbibber had enjoyed the blessing of unusually good health, being an active farmer and business man for many years here in this county. His untimely death was attributed to a heart attack, which he suffered two days ago.
     Mr. Vanbibber has held two public offices in Greenup county that of tax assessor and commissioner, both of which he filled with much ability and business integrity and during his political career and in private live was an ardent supporter of the democratic party. He was a devoted father to his family of ten children; all of whom survive to mourn his death, and a devout and active member of the Methodist church.
     In addition to his grief stricken wife, Mrs. Anna Hill Vanbibber and his children, he is survived by numerous other relatives and a legion of friends and acquaintances who will deeply regret his death, for he was known throughout this county for his friendly manner and happy disposition, making friends with whomever he came in contact.
     Funeral services will be held form the Vanbibber home on Tygarts Creek at Hoods, Thursday afternoon at one-thirty with the Rev. W. M. A. Oakes officiating. He is survived by his wife, seven sons and three daughters. They are: Mrs. Owen Kendall of Greenup, Mrs. Arthur Garvey of Warnock; Mrs. Ben Slater of Chatteroy, W. Va.; Morris of Hoods; Ferris of Oliver; Amos of Ashland; Cyrus of Portsmouth, O.; Fred of Columbus, O.; Raymond of Ashland and Louise at home.

     Mrs. Lorena May Van Bibber, 74 of 2417 Argonne Rd., died at 4:45 a.m. today in Elmwood Village Nursing Home in Ashland, Ky.
     Mrs. Van Bibber, a native of Greenup County, Ky., was the widow of Cyrus Van Bibber who died in 1957.
     She was a member of First Christian Church.
     Surviving are a son, Eugene Van Bibber of Cincinnati; two daughters, Mrs. Leonard Sluss of Ashland, Ky., and Mrs. Howard Warren, 2916 Willow Way; a brother, Will Warnock of London, Ohio; two sisters, Miss Fay Warnock 2417 Argonne Rd.., and Mrs. Sally Finney of Columbus, and five grandchildren.
     Arrangements are pending at Windel-Howland Funeral Home.

     Greenup, Ky. -- Mrs. Minnie Bold Vanbibber, 84 of Whetstone Rd., died Sunday night at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital near Russell.
     She was a member of Greenup Christian Church and made her home with Thurman Darby, a son-in-law.
     Arrangements are pending at he J. B. Wright Funeral home in Greenup.

Rev. Morton VanBibber
     Rev. Morton Van Bibber, 80, of South Shore, was dead on arrival at Scioto Memorial Hospital at 9:10 p.m. Monday.
     The Burshart (sic.), Ky. native was a veteran of Word War I and a retired Methodist Minister, having served in Eastern Kentucky for more than 40 years.
     Surviving are his wife, Avis English Van Bibber; six sons, Earl, Ray, Harold and Dale all of South Portsmouth, Morton W. of Dayton and Claude of Portsmouth; two daughters, Mrs. Hazel Trimble and Mrs. Avis Tolliver, both of South Portsmouth; two sisters, Mrs. Matilda Hall of Portsmouth and Mrs. Martha Hamilton of West Portsmouth; two half-sisters, Mrs. Martha Hamilton of West Portsmouth (sic.); two half-sisters Mrs. Lousie Bloomer of Wheelersburg and Miss Versal Van Bibber of Portsmouth; two half- brothers, James Van Bibber of Dayton and Charles Van Bibber of Mountain View, Mo. and his stepmother, Mrs. Talitha Van Bibber of Wheelersburg.
     Services are to be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at South Shore First Methodist Church with Rev. O. P. Smith and Ron Masters officiating. Interment is to be in Collier Memorial Gardens.

Myrtle VanBibber
     Myrtle Marie Nickell VanBibber, 82, of Delaware, Ohio, died Sunday, Oct. 17, 1999, at home.
     She was born Jan. 7, 1917, in South Portsmouth, Ky., a daughter of the late Herbert and Mattie Dooley Nickel. She was a homemaker and a member of Lake Street Church of God in Delaware, Ohio.
     She was preceded in death by her husband Cebert VanBibber in 1975. Surviving are three sons, John VanBibber of Delaware, Jack VanBibber of Columbus and Jim VanBibber of Whitehall; two daughters, Dr. Imogene Waddell of Munroe Falls and Jill Winston of Marysville; one half brother, Dr. Herbert Nickell of Wheelersburg; 11 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
     She was also preceded in death by one grandson.
     Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Bennett, Brown and Rodman Funeral Home, 92 North Sandusky St., Delaware, with the Rev. Dan Maurer officiating, and graveside services at 2 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg.
     Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Van Bibber
     Mrs. Nettie J. Van Bibber, 83, of Cincinnati, formerly of New Boston, died Thursday at a Cincinnati hospital after a long illness.
     A native of Greenup County, Ky., and preceded in death by her husband, Harrison W. in 1967, she was a member of Portsmouth Baptist Church.
     Surviving are a son Harrison W. Jr. of Cincinnati; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
     Services are planned at 1 p.m. Monday at Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Ky., with Pastor Oscar L. Perry officiating, and interment in Memorial Burial Park.
     Friends my call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until the time of services Monday.

Thomas Vanbibber Pioneer Resident, Claimed in Texas
     Word has been received by relatives here of the death of Thomas Van Bibber, 85, of King's Mills, Texas.
     A native of Greenup County, he was the last member of the "Klink" Van Bibber family, one of the early settlers of the country.
     He left Kentucky with his family in 1905.
     Mr. Van Bibber's wife preceded him in death and he lived with his son, Howard Van Bibber of King's Mills.
     Other survivors include several nieces and nephews in Greenup County.

     Quincy, Ky. – Services for Timothy VanBibber, 73, of Quincy, who died Tuesday night, at Mercy Hospital in Portsmouth are planned at 2 p.m. Friday at Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore.
     A Greenup County native, he was a retired construction worker.
     Surviving are his wife, Dora Shepherd VanBibber; a daughter, Irene Bryan of Cincinnati, Ohio; three grandchildren and a great grandchild.
     Gary Vaughn, minister, is to officiate at services, with burial in Sunset Cemetery.
     Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 9 p.m. today, and until the hour of services Friday.

Vanbibber
     Greenup Ky. - Services for Vernon Merrill Vanbibber, 67 of Load, are to be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Antioch Christian Church of which he was a member.
     Vanbibber, a farmer and native of Greenup County, died Saturday after suffering an apparent heart attack at home.
     Surviving are his wife, Edna Meadows Vanbibber; a son Ralph of Melbourne, Fla.; a brother, Amos of Ashland; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Garvey of Vanceburg and Mrs. Bess Kendall of Raceland; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
     Ezra Williams, minister is to officiate at services. Burial is to be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens.
     Friends may call at J. B. Wright Funeral Home at Greenup after 5 p.m. today. The body is to be taken to the church an hour before services Tuesday.

     Versal VanBibber, 62, of Science Hill, Ky., died early today at a nursing home there.
     A former Portsmouth resident, she was a member of the Church of Christ.
     Surviving is a sister, Louise Bloomer of Knoxville, Tenn.
     Services are planned at 9: 30 a.m. Thursday at Morris and Histope Funeral Home at Science Hill, with the Rev. Danny Durroughs officiating.
     Friends may call at the funeral home from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Greenup, May 12 – Funeral services will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. at Greenup Baptist Church for William McKinley VanBibber, 57, of Riverton, who was found dead of a shotgun wound near his home about 12:30 p.m. Friday.
     The coroner said the wound was self-inflicted.
     The body will be moved to the residence at 5 p.m. today and will remain there until the funeral hour. Masonic rites will be held and Rev. Hillis Spurlock will officiate. Burial will be in Corn Cemetery at Little Leatherwood.
     Surviving are his wife, Cassie, a nephew, Gene Webb of Boston, Mass., and a niece Louise Sweeney of Columbus, both reared in the VanBibber home; four brothers, Mort of South Portsmouth, Harrison of Oak Hill, O., Charles and James in Missouri and six sisters, Mrs. Matilda Hall of Warnock, Mrs. Lola Carter of Lexington, Mrs. Martha Skaggs, Mrs. Edith Vercil and Mrs. Louise Bloomer all of Portsmouth, and Mrs. Marie Hillard of Cleveland.
