Peter McMahan is listed in the GREAT REGISTER on July 21, 1880 as Pete McMaham (but that may be someone's idea of how he spelled his name as the index says McMahan, and Mary Lewis says it may be spelled McMahon), and was naturalized on January 11, 1870 in San Francisco District Court. He is listed as 36, and I think the census of 1880 lists him as 35 which would suggest a birthday probably between April and July.
Given to me by Paul Garrity. (Mary Lewis helped lots with McMahon research yrs. ago, when I first started genealogy.)
