My husband was a descendant of this son, who came to Texas in about 1875. Following is this line. Josias Short(William, John) and Sarah Martin Short. Note: There was another Young Short, son of Franklin Short and Jane Martin, who died in Grayson Co., TX. Needless to say, this caused a great deal of confusion! Note: This branch of the family, at least, said that the elder Short's name was Josias, rather than Josiah. There was a Josiah Short, also a son of Franklin Short and Jane Martin. Older members of the family in Denton, TX, had letters written by Martha Jane (Short) Brassieres to her brother in Texas.
