Lowery (Walter L.) and L'Allemand Families in the 1920 U.S. Census
Lowery and L'Allemand Family Members - 1920 U.S. Census

In 1920 United States Census we find Walter Low Lowery and Mildred (L'Allemand) Lowery living with Mildred's parents, Oscar and Sadie L'Allemand, on Madison Street in Brooklyn, NY. Based on the "Age at first marriage" question in the 1930 United States Census, we can determine that Walter and Mildred Lowery had been married for less than a year. In the 1930 census, Walter is recorded as having been married at age 28 and Mildred was 24. In the 1920 census, Walter's age is 28 and Mildred's is 25, which would indicate that they were married in 1919 or early 1920. Walter Lowery was employed as a clerk in a bank.

Walter Low Lowery was the son of Walter Gorham Lowery and Lula Leavens (Low) Lowery. He was the grandson of William Benjamin Lowery and Emily Jane (Martin) Lowery.
