On October 10, 1909, the New York Times published a "Special Cable" from Berlin, dated October 9, which recounted the recent events in Katherine Wright's visit to Europe. Katherine Wright was the sister of Orville Wright and Wilbur Wright. The story mentions that Katherine Wright "was the guest of honor at a farewell luncheon given yesterday by Mrs. Stephen H. McFadden of Bambergerstrasse, one of the leading hostesses of the American colony." The article also reported that "Miss Wright and Mrs. McFadden have just returned from a Rhine trip."

Anne Laura Acker married Stephen H. McFadden. She was the daughter of Mary Ellen (Bernard) Acker and Josiah Acker, my great-great-grandparents.
