Joan Maxine Texas Rickard was born in New York, New York, on 07 June 1927. Maxine was the daughter of George Lewis "Tex" Rickard and Bernadette Maxine (Hodges) Rickard. Maxine's second marriage was to Kenneth M. Halprin. Maxine Halprin died in New Jersey on 27 May 2000 at the age of 72. She was buried at Woodlawn Cemetery, Bronx, New York, where her mother was interred in 1976.

The New York Times death notice indicates that Maxine was the mother of Joseph Rickard Halprin and Joan Christine Rickard, and Edwin Rickard Goodfellow, a son from her earlier marriage to Edwin W. Goodfellow, Jr.

Maxine Rickard was the great-granddaughter of John Francis Delaney and Margaret (Montgomery) Delaney, which is the connection between the Rickard and Delaney family lines.
