George Brashear, War II Vet, Dies

George Washington Brashear of Winchester, a veteran of World War II, died Wednesday of last in Franklin County Hospital following a brief illness. He was 62.

Services were conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. The Rev. Neal Foster officiated. Burial was in Winchester Memorial Park.

Mr. Brashear, a mechanic, was a native of Tennessee. He was born Feb. 22, 1913.

He was the son of Nannie Bolden Brashear Neal and William H. Neal.

Survivors are six daughters, Mrs. Charlene Norton, Lexington, Ky., Mrs. Mary Blackburn, Albuquerque, N.M., Mrs. Diane Faye Cox, Misses Gail and Debbie Ann Brashear and Mrs. Georgia Wade, all of California; three sons, James, David and Charles Brashear, California; a brother, Ed Brashear, Winchester, and a half-brother, Horace Neal, Phoenix, Ariz.
