Obituary reads:

SANDERS

Ed Sanders, 102, of Winchester died Tuesday, June 26, at Franklin County Regional Hospital following an extended illness.

A retired farmer, Mr. Sanders was a native of Jackson County, Ala. He was born March 22, 1882 to the late George W. and Emma Jacks Sanders. He was a member of the Owens Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian church.

Services were conducted the afternoon of Thursday, June 28, at Moore-Cortner Chapel in Winchester. Rev. Cecil Tucker officiated. Burial was in Franklin Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Sanders is survived by one daughter, Miss Myrtle Sanders of Winchester, two sons, George Sanders of Taft, Tenn., and J.C. Sanders of Homer, Mich.; one brother, Gordon Sanders of Belvidere; 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

[Transcriber Notes: Obituary found amongst my grandmother’s documents that I inherited from my father. My grandmother was Jessie Velma (Durham) Bolden Womack.

An extensive article about Ed Sanders when he turned 100 years old was published in the Herald-Chronicle, (page 1-A?) Winchester, Franklin Co., TN on Thursday, April 1, 1982, and includes a photo of Ed and his brother, Gordon. Gordon was a former Cowan Public School Principal. The article is titled "100 Years of Worry-free Living." On page 2-A of the same newspaper there is a reprint of a photograph of Ed Sanders and his wife, Mattie Lou (Taylor) Sanders shortly after they were married in 1909. Mattie died in 1966.

Per the article, they had 5 children as follows:
