Reese Cemetery Stones

Cemeteries are not the most exciting places to visit but for a genealogist it is a needed step in tracing our ancestors. To visit their place of rest is an experience that has brought chills to me at times. As our lives have scattered us across the country, I want to share these photos with family members that may never be able to visit these places.

This photo was taken in the New Cumberland Cemetery, New Cumberland, Ohio. Elijah B. Reese 1844 -1912 Mattie Reese 1863 -1922 Harry N. Reese 1887 -1922 The stone to the left is Elijah's original stone. Inscribed on it: Elijah B. Reese, Co. B 59th Ind. Inf. Elijah served in the Civil War. I assume the stone to the right was erected after the deaths of Mattie and Harry by the surviving children being newer and in excellent condition.
