 MTDNA & Y-DNA chart

In  the chart above, we are showing how mtdna and Y chromosomes descend. The blue is the "Y" chromosome and MTDNA is the other colors. Different colors are used to  show how the mtdna descends and how it is passed to both daughters and sons but ends at the male child.

Each egg shape represents a person. each shape is either male/female. number 1 (pink) shows how her DNA passes down from mother to child, number 2 part blue and red shows how the Y chromosome passes down, but his mtdna does not. Numbers 3 and 4 show the same thing, at 5 and 6.

Every one of the people represented here contributed autosomal chromosomes to the great great grandchildren of number  2, and the great great great grandchildren of number 1.
