W. T. Dillon
William T. Dillon was born in Sangamon county, Ill., Nov. 4, 1850, and died in Trenton, Mo., at 9:45 p. m., Aug. 24, 1900, aged 49 years, 9 months and 20 days. He came to Missouri in 1861, and was united in marriage to Jula A. Ford, who survives him, Dec. 9, 1869. To this union ten children were born, nine of whom are living and attended the funeral. He leaves one sister, Mrs. Joshua Palmer, of Jennings, Kansas. Mrs. Palmer has been with him for the past five weeks.

Mr. Dillon united with the First Baptist church of Trenton in January, 1877, and has lived a consistent member ever since.

The deceased had been a long and patient sufferer nearly all his life. When he was six years old a sore broke out on his leg which the doctors then called white swelling, which has given him more or less trouble all his life. at times he would be betterm then he would get down again. About two years ago it got so bad that he was unable to walk, and he could only get around part of the time. During the past winter he was confined to his bed most of the time. Last January he went to the St. Joseph medical school to have his leg operated on, or taken off. It was considered unsafe to take it off. An operation was performed and for two weeks he seemed to be getting better and was able to walk some. He was soon down again and has been confined to his bed for the past seven months and died as above stated. He had what the physicians called necrosis or deadening of the bone. A short burial service was held at the residence in north part of town, conducted by Rev. J. C. Maple, at 4 o'clock, p. m. to-day. Burial at Maple Grove cemetery.
