Ertel vs. Booram 1847

Ertel et al vs. Booram et al
Hamilton Co., OH
Subpeona in Chancery November 1847
Family Papers

submitted by Linda Boorom 7/14/03

Background:
All 3 of the following papers (and others) were found in a wooden box which belonged to my husbands father, Arthur Boorom (1897-1972) 25 years ago. It was my curiosity about these papers in particular which began my interest in genealogy.

After much research, it is believed that these paper's belonged to Arthur's grandfather, Frederick Boorom (1838-1921) whose name appears in the first part of the summons below. In 1847 he was 9 years old and thus a minor. The Heath children listed in this section were underage as well.

I have not been able to find the court records for this case. Unfortunately the Hamilton County Courthouse has had several fires in which many records were lost making research there difficult to say the least!

I have not found anyone with additional copies, although they certainly would have been duplicated for each person listed in the subpeona. Thankfully, Frederick Boorom kept these papers, as they have been my greatest resource listing the descendants of Aaron Booram Jr.

Of those listed, some are children:
Malinda Artles/Ertel, w/o Jacob
Jackson Booram/Boorom
Jonathan Booram/Boorom
Lydia Artles/Ertel w/o Daniel
Mary Rainley/Remley w/o Daniel

At this time, I still have no idea who "Sarah Scott late Sarah Booram" is. She appears to be the same who signed with Lydia Ertel to hire an attorney.

The remaining on the list were Aaron's grandchildren who parent(s) were deceased. These being the children of:
Andrew Booram & wife Sarah Harris
Jesse Booram & wife Jane ???
Elizabeth Booram & husband Joseph Heath
Rebecca Booram & husband William Harris
Amos Booram & wife Catherine Remley
