The Artist and His Achievements |
Josip Laslavic was born in 1933, in the village of Laslavic, near Bosiljevo. At present, he is retired and a member of the Association of Amature Sculptors of Karlovac (ULAK). Address: Sarajevska ul. 3, Karlovac. As a self-taught artist, he has been creating art works in wood and rock for the last 40 years. While creating art pieces, he pays special attention to preserve the original form of the wood or rock. Mr. Laslavic is also a painter. He prefers to draw and paint flowers. He held the following exhibition of his art works: Karlovac 1968, 1970, 1973, 1982, 1984, 1994 and 1997. Pula 1969, Samobor 1970, Plitvicka Jezera 1976, 1982. Castel San Giovani, Italy, 1984. Mr. Laslavic also participated at the following group exhibitions: Zagreb, Beograd, Split, Rijeka, Kragujevac, Slavonski Brod, Sisak, Nis, Varazdin, Koprivnica, Trebnje, Bologna, Munchen, Budimpesta, Tutzing, Conacri and Madrid. |
