The Bowles of Canada and their Roots in Ireland and England

back to The Feltus Family of Carlow

Feltus/Feltis Property Listed in the 1825/1827 Tithe Applotment

See some references to Tithe Applotments in Tithe Arrears in Myshall Parish on the Carlow IGP site.  Thanks to Michael Brennan.

The following list only includes landowners.  Other Feltis/Feltus in the area were tenants who did not hold a lease on their land and so were not assessed an annual applotment (fee) in support of the local Church of Ireland.  The acreage owned (leased) is given in Acres, Roods and Perches (where 1 square rod (the length of a standard stave) = 1 perch; 40 perches = 1 rood; 4 roods = 1 acre).  The amount they were applotted is given in Pounds Sterling, Shillings and Pence.
