Margaret received the following information from Lines and
Lifestyles: Dickey, Moore, Parsons, & Some Related Families from William C. Dickey, San Antonio, TX who sent it to her:
Patrick DICKEY came to South Carolina from Ireland on the ship
Nancy in 1767; he moved to Georgia. His son, Joseph DICKEY
married Mary BOYET, daughter of James BOYET and Sabrey SASSER.
Joseph was a witness or at least mentioned in James BOYET's will.
Children of Joseph DICKEY and Mary BOYET are as follows:

William Hill BOYETT b. 27 July 1834, Duplin Co., NC, son of Jesse BOYETT. "He came in his youth to Berrien (Now Lanier) County and made his home with his half-sister and husband, John and Treacy BOSTICK (Vol. II) until his marriage." He m. 25 Dec 1856 Emaline Jemima TAYLOR, b. 22 Jan 1842, S.C., daughter of William J. TAYLOR also of Berrien County." She d. 28 June 1926; he d. 16 Dec 1897.
William Hill and Jemima(h) had eleven children as follows:

"Mr. BOYETT bought land near the present town of Ray City, and lived there and farmed until his death Dec. 16, 1897. His widow died. June 28, 1926. They were buried at Empire Church."
"Mr. BOYETT volunteered Aug. 22, 1862, in Co., "I", 50th Georgia Infantry Regiment, C.S.A., as a private. He was detailed as a shoemaker Nov. 17, 1862 and sent to Columbus, Ga., where he rendered that service to the army until February, 1865. He was paroled at Thomasville, May 11, 1865, and returned home."
In addition to the above, Darlene and Bryant Boyette sent notes relating to this family with same exact dates and only one minor change in spelling of "Jemima" which they show as "Jemimiah" which is noted as (h) in the above compilation. Darlene writes, "We know William Hill's father was Jesse & maybe his mother Keziah SMITH of Duplin Co., N.C. But none in the family have learned
Jesse's birthdate, marriage date, or deat date or where they came
from. It seems the 'trail' is cold at this point."

BOYETT, JORDAN 1831-85 Pierce
Jordan BOYETT was born in 1831 in either Emanuel or Bulloch County, a son of Seth and Patience MOORE BOYETT. He was married in Bulloch County to Barbara DIXON, daughter of James and Mehalia DIXON. She was borna bout 1827 in Bulloch County.
Jordan BOYETT moved to Ware County with his father-in-law in the ealry 1850's and was cut into Pierce County in that county's formation. To Jordan and Barbara BOYETT were born:

Census was enumerated. William and Sarah Priscilla were members of the Primitive Baptist Church at Ramah and later at Ben James in the western section of the county. Sarah d. 8 Feb 1907 and was buried in the cemetery at Ben James Church. William was nicknamed "01 Hickory" d. age 93, 28 Apr 1928 and is buried adjacent to his wife.

LANGSTON

John LANGSTON was a Revolutionary War soldier. His son, Reddick LANGSTON, was born in Wayne Co., NC and moved to Darlington District, SC in 1793.
John LANGSTON, possibly of Bertie Co., NC, m. Martha YATES. Their son, John LANGSTON, resided in Wayne Co., NC. John was b. 1738 and d. 1781; it is probably the younger John who served during the Revolutionary War. John married Ann _______ (possibly REDDICK).
John and Ann's son, Reddick LANGSTON was b. 1776; moved to Darlington District, SC; and d. 1848. His son, Ervin LANGSTON b. 1812; m. Elizabeth HILL; lived Darlington Dist., SC; d. 1898. Ervin and Elizabeth's son was Wade Hampton LANGSTON. Wade was b. 1858 and d. 1937 in Darlington Dist., SC. He m. Mary Ellen REVELL. Mary and Wade's daughter was Mattie Martha LANGSTON, b. 1882 and d. 1936 in Darlington Co., SC. She m. James Walter BLACKMON and their son Wellings James BLACKMON b. 1924 in Darlington Co., SC. He m. Rebecca Oteria MOSLEY b. 1921, d. 1956.

A Soldier's Pension application is on file at the Texas State Archives for E. BOYET, Nacogdoches County, Postoffice Cushing, Texas. Cushing is near the county line between Nacogdoches and Rush counties. His first application in 1902 was disapproved because he did not state the time of service and because he owned land. He reapplied in 1909; this was filed 14 August of that year as #16153. Form A of the second request gives the following data with handwritten information in boldface type:

BOYET.. .a bona fide resident citizen of the State of Texas since prior to January 1, A.D. 1880, and that they have no interest in this claim. [signed) E. C. In the second section referring to AFFIDAVIT OF WITNESSES, in the statement of the County Judge (F. P. MARSHALL) it reads: "State of Texas, on this day personally appeared F. H. HOYA & Geo. F. INGRAHAM who are personally known to me to be credible citizens, who, being by me sworn, on oath state that they are personally acquainted with the foregoing applicant, and that the facts set forth and statements made in his application are correct.... And they further make oath to the following facts touching the applicant's service in the Confederate Army:
The said B. BOYET enlisted in Co. B, 8th. Texas infantry and served in said Co and regiment until close of var, making more than three year. service. He made a good soldier. We know these facts because we Vere in the same regiment but not in same Co., together, but were together almost every day. Their signatures follow as is
the same date and judge's name.

The records show that E. BOYETT, private, Company B, 12th (Young's), also called 8th Texas Infantry, Confederate States Army, enlisted May 13, 1862. The roll of the company for January and February, 1864, last roll on file, shows him present. No later record found.
The file includes a copy of the form letter sent to the Office of Commissioner of Pensions from the State of Texas Office of Commissioner of Pensions which repeats a little of the above data.
In his original 1901 application, the file has a large "65" across the top of a folded paper which front reads CONFEDERATE PENSION APPLICATION. This is dated 25 September 1902. It shows the name of applicant E. BOYETT Looneyville P.0., Nacogdoches Co. It is marked Disapproved with the same date and is signed by E. A. BOLINES or BOLMES. The back of the paper has the following note:
Fails to state time of service. Owns Land.
The original application contains a little more information

The file includes an AFFIDAVIT OF PHYSCIAN which abstract gives the following information:

[BOYD is crossed out and is followed by] BOYETT... and finds him laboring under the following disabilities which render him unable to labor at any work or calling sufficient to earn a support for himself: and family fror? own Diabetus and other weakning Diseased renders him from making a surfant for his him Self and family This difficult to understand statement is dated 10 Feb 1902 and is signed by doctor and county judge. This is followed by another certificate of the county judge and in turn is followed by the County Commissioners' Certificate which is dated 15 May 1902. |

None of these Boyett's are in the 1880 census. Silas died Feb. 17 1924
in his home in Malakoff, TX.; Henderson Co. Mary Ann Boyett died July
1, 1942.

A typed letter is included in the file. This is dated 6 June 1914 and is addressed to Hon. Geo. W. KYSER, Austin, Texas. It reads in part:
Enclosed herewith please find application of S.L. BOYETT for a pension. He searched diligently for some living witnesses of his service in the Confederate army, and found none. He therefore submits his parole as the best evidence he can produce, and I recommend that you accept this evidence for I know that he could get no other proof.
Again, Mr. Boyett prizes his parole very highly, and desires that you return it to him if you can do so. If you must keep it on file there, please write me or him to that effect so that he will understand the matter.

BOYETT, who was a pensioner of the State of Texas, and whose file number was 27998 and whose original county was Henderson. The said pensioner, S. L. BOYETT, died on the 17 day of Febry, 1924, in the town of Malakoff, County of Henderson, Texas.

That the warrant, which application is hereby made for, shall be applied to paying all or part of the expenses incurred by the said pensioner, 8. L. The Undertaker was Dan Gentry...Malakoff...who states that he had charge of the body of S. L. BOYETT who died in the town of Malakoff...on the 16 day of Febry, 1924. That the said body was prepared for burial by me on the 18 day of Febry 1924...
Physician's certificate is also attached and gives the cause of death as Senility and toxemia. The attending physician was D. B. OWEN, M.D., Malakoff, Texas.
