STEELMAN/BOYETT FAMILY

The following information was taken from charts, photographs of the family Bible birth and death pages, and notes which were submitted to the editor by Greg Boswell. The data is presented here with appreciation and with hopes of additional input on these families. This family is noted on pp. 54 and 77, and in the Addenda of From Boyt to Bovette written and published by the editor in 1982. As a comparison will show, there are many omissions and some errors in the data in the book. Those notes below in boldface type are taken from this book; all other information was furnished by Greg Boswell.
James Washington STEELMAN (possibly a brother of William Carrol) was b. @ 1838 in Tennessee, son of William (Bill) STEELMAN of Tennessee. He md. about 1858 (1) Lettie BOYETT who was b. 9 Sept 1840. She was the daughter of Thomas and Nancy (REEVES) BOYETT. Lettie d. 19 Aug 1881 and is buried in Coop Prairie Cemetery, Mansfield, Scott Co., AR. James Washington md. (2) Susan BOYETT, a sister of Lettie. Susan was b. about 1855 in Mansfield, Scott Co., AR; d. in Konawa, Seminole Co., OK. James d. in Sasakwa, OK.

Notes: William (Bill) STEELMAN knew little about Lettie and Susan
BOYETT's family. He did know that Lettie died in Sebastian CO., AR and Susan died in Konawa, Indian Territory (Oklahoma), and that James Washington died in Sasakwa, Indian Territory.
Lettie's headstone in Coop Prairie Cemetery in Mansfield, AR reads:
