Newspaper Article: Clyde Republican, December 24, 1936 -- "Shock in Deaths" End Comes to Two Well Known Citizens Same Night. People here were not prepared for the announcement Mondaymorning of two deaths the previous night and were shocked when it was learned that E.M. Dawson and George Danielson both had passed away. ..................... Mrs. Dawson had been in his usual health, spent last week at work on the new home of Mrs. Leah Ransopher, where he and his son, Jim, had the paint contract. He had been down town late Saturday afternoon, seemingly healthy and happy. He spent Sunday at his home in Ames with no evident symptoms of sickness and retired early, preparatory to resuming his work here the following morning. About 11 o'clock Mrs. Dawson was roused when she heard him, apparently, murmuring something. She thought at first he was dreaming and spoke to him, but when there was no response immediately got out of bed and turned on a light. He appeared to be unconscious and she ran to the home of her son, Jim, for assistance. A physician was called, but it was too late. Evidently Mr. Dawson was dying when his wife awoke, having been stricken with a heart attack.
