Weather fine. Usual artillery activity. Parade 8 A.M. Gas Helmets inspected. All Gun crews attended Divisional School of Instruction Course in Mechanism of Vickers Gun from 8.30 A.M. to 4.30 P.M.
2 Weather fine. Parade 8 A.M. Gun crews attending course until 4.30 P.M. Parade 6 P.M. No 1 and No 2 Sections issued Vickers Light Machine Guns.
3 Weather sultry. Lieut. BASEVI and Sgt. TUCKER proceeded to Camiers on Course of Instruction in Mechanism of Vickers Gun. Gun Crews attending course at Divisional School of Instruction. Lt EASTHAM and Sgt Major inspected Transport section.
4 Morning fine. Parade 8 A.M. Gas helmets inspected. Men attending course in Vickers Gun. Afternoon & Evening wet.
5 Weather fine. Men attending Vickers Course until 1 P.M. Spent afternoon filling belts, etc. Moved off at 8.45 to relieve 4th Can. Inf. Bdg. Machine Gun Coy. at THE BLUFF. Complete with transport and Vickers Light Machine Guns (sixteen). Relief completed 1.30 A.M.
6 Weather wet. Day very quite. Some slight aerial activity. During night 6-7 crews repairing dugout & implacements. Inspection of all posts in new area by Lieuts EASTHAM and CUMMING.

7 Weather still showery. 1 O.R. reported for duty from 16th Cdn. Inf. Battalion. Turned over two Colt Automatic Machine Guns complete with spare parts to each of the following units. 29th Cdn. Inf. Battalion, 31st Cdn. Inf. Battalion and 2nd Cdn. Div. School of Instruction. Everything in line quite.
8 Weather fine. Operation order received relative to relief of Left Position by 1st Cdn. Inf. Bdg. Mach. Gun Coy. Turned over two Colt Automatic Machine Gun complete with spare parts to each of the following units: 28th Cdn. Inf. Battalion and 27th Cdn. Inf. Battalion.
9 The Vickers Machine Gun put out of action by a minnenwerfer at The DUMP and sent out with ration limber. No 2, 3 & 4 Sections relieved by section of 1st Cdn. Inf. Bdg. Mach. Gun Coy. and 3rd Cdn. Inf. Bdg. Mach. Gun Coy. These sections afterwards relieved 5th Cdn. Inf. Bdg. M.G. Coy. in Canal Sector. Capt. T.A.H. Taylor reported for duty from England and assumed command. 4 O.R. reported from BASE DEPOT. Relief was completed by 3.30 A.M.

10 Weather fine. Capt. T.A.H. Taylor and Lt. EASTHAM visited all posts. Nothing else to report.
11 Gun in Trench 8 relieved by 27th Cdn. Inf. Battalion. Gun in S.8 was withdrawn on instructions from Brigade. These two guns put in Reserve at Company's Headquarters I 26 C-1-9.
12 Guns at Chimney Post (I 27 C-6-5) and Langhof Farm I 26 D ½-2½ relieved by 1st Cdn. Motor Mach. Gun Brigade.
13 Indirect fire by Lt. Cumming from 12.30 - 2 A.M. 500 rounds in small bursts on road O 10 B 3½-8. Indirect fire from La Chappelle. 750 rounds from 11 P.M. - 2 A.M. in small bursts.
14 Indirect fire from La Chappelle. 1000 rounds in small bursts between 10 P.M. - 2 A.M. on road D.10.B 3½-8. Germans retaliated in both cases with M.G. fire for some time after fire opened, but his retaliation was lessened each night. 1 O.R. wounded at I 27-C-5.1.
15 Relief of 5 guns south of canal by 4th Inf. Bdg. Mach. Gun Coy. Completed by 2.30 A.M. Half of company under Lt. Basevi moved to RENELIGHST for further training in VICKERS gun. Half of company remained in Line under Capt. Taylor.
16 Considerable artillery activity. 500 Rds. Indirect fire from La Chappelle on roads and trench in vicinity of O.10.B 3½-8. Crews under Lieut. Basevi commenced course in mechanism of Vickers Machine Guns.
17 Weather fine. Crews in Renelighst continued training. Nothing else to report.
18 Weather fine. Crews in Renelighst continued training. Nothing else to report.
19 Weather fine. Crews in Renelighst continued training. Capt. T.A.H. Taylor spent day at 2nd Divisional Machine Gun Range.
20 Weather fine. Crews in Renelighst continued training. Nothing else to report.
21 Eight guns occupying positions in Bluff area relieved by corresponding number from 2nd Cdn. Inf. Bdg. Mach. Gun Coy. Eight guns in training at Renelighst moved to relieve corresponding number of 149th Bdg Mach. Gun Coy. (British) in lines behind Trenches M1-0.4. Headquarters moved to Camp Huron Renelighst. Lieut. Eastham sustained injuries from fall off his horse and was admitted to hospital in Renelighst.

23 ½ Company at Headquarters under instruction in Jams and mechanism of Vickers Machine Guns. Eight guns with Lieut. Basevi, Galbraith & Smith relieved by 5th Cdn. Inf. Bdg. Mach. Gun Coy. Lt. J.A. McCAMUS and 7 O.R. reported as reinforcements from England.
24 Weather fine, but cloudy. Instruction continues. Nothing else to report.
25 Weather fine, but cloudy. Classes of Instruction continued. Lt. E.L. MAHONEY reported as reinforcement from England. Inspection of all guns and transport by Capt. T.A.H. Taylor. 4 N.C.O. reported to Divisional School of Instruction to act as Temporary Instructors in Colt Automatic Machine Gun.
26 Weather fine. Company out on route march in morning. Afternoon spent practicing Base Ball. Nothing else to report.
27 Weather fine. Parade 10 A.M. for Gas helmet inspection & drill. Spent remained of day at classes of instruction on map reading and indirect fire.
28 Weather fine. Instruction continued as above.
29 Weather fine. Company on Brigade route march. 21 O.R. reported for duty from Canadian Base Depot.
30 Weather fine. Instruction continued as above. Received orders to relieve 4th Cdn. Mach. Gun Coy. at St. Eloi district. Lt. A Eastham returned to duty.
31 Weather fine. 21 O.R. reinforcement inspected by G.O.C. 6th Cdn. Inf. Bdg. C Company moved off complete with Transport at 9 P.M. to relieve 5th Cdn. Inf. Mach. Gun Coy.
