Weather fine. Company preparing to move. Lt G.P. DOWNING admitted to hospital.
Aix Noulette 2 Weather fine and very hot. Company moved to Aix Noulette via Bouvigny. [O.O. No 68 attached] Company moved off at 3 p.m. accompanied by the Transport and arrived at Aix Noulette at 4.30 p.m. and occupied billets for the night.
Cite St Pierre 3 Weather fine. Transport lines moved to Sains-en-Gohelle and took up lines in CHATEAU grounds. [O.O. No 69 attached] During the night 3/4th the Company relieved the 139th (Imperial) M.G. Coy in the LAURENT SECTOR. Company headquarters located at M12 a 2.5½. No. 1 Section in reserve with 4 guns. No. 2 Section in the line with 2 guns in M12a and 2 guns at M12b. No. 3 Section in line positions with 2 guns in M12b and 2 guns in M12c. No. 4 Section in line positions with 4 guns in M18. Relief complete by 2 a.m. July 4th.
4 Weather showery. Company holding positions taken up. Transport and details moved into their permanent billets.
5 Weather fine and hot. Company holding positions taken up. 2000 rounds on Roads in LENS.
6 Weather fine. Company holding positions taken up. 500 rounds fired at low-flying air-craft. 2500 rounds fired on roads in LENS during night.
7 Weather fine. Company holding positions taken up. 1000 rounds fired at low-flying air-craft. 5000 rounds fired during night on roads in LENS.
8 Weather cloudy with showers. Company holding positions taken up. 750 rounds  fired on low-flying aircraft. 7000 rounds fired on streets and roads in N14c and  N20a during night. During night 8/9th No. 1 Section relieved No. 3 Section in their positions. [O.O. No. 70 attached] After relief No. 3 Section moved to and occupied No. 1 Sections dugouts. Relief complete 1 a.m.
9 Weather cloudy with slight showers. Company holding positions taken up. 6000 rounds fired during night on streets and roads in LENS.
10 Weather cloudy. 8000 rounds fired during night on selected targets in LENS. Company holding positions taken up.
11 Weather cloudy. 8000 rounds fired during night on selected targets in LENS.
12 Weather fine. 1000 Rounds fired at Hostile Aircraft. 5000 rounds on selected Targets in LENS. Lieut. J. STONEHEWER returned from leave.
13 Weather fine. During night 13/14th July the Company exchanged sectors with the 4th Cdn. M.G. Coy which was holding the LENS sector. [O.O. No. 71 attached] The exchange was complete by 4.30 a.m. 14th.
Lievin 14 Weather showery. Company holding positions taken up. 250 Rounds fired at Hostile Aircraft. 5000 rounds indirect fire during night on LENS.
15 Weather fine. Company holding positions taken up. 250 Rounds at Hostile Aircraft. 10000 rounds during night on selected targets in Lens. Work on alternative emplacements. Parties carrying up ammunition.
16 Weather showery. Company holding positions taken up. 250 Rounds fired at Hostile Aircraft. 6000 in Indirect fired on selected targets in Lens.
17 Weather fine. During night 17/18th July Company was relieved by the 4th Cdn  M.G. Coy in all positions. [O.O. No. 72 attached] Relief was completed by 4.30 a.m. 18th Inst. with the exception of No. 4 Section which was compelled to leave some stores in line owing to daylight. Company went into line at full strength and suffered two casualties, both slight shrapnel wounds. After relief Company marched to Billets in Bouvigny Huts.

22 Weather fine. Company resting in billets. 32 O.R's reported from the Battalions of the 6th Brigade as a Carrying Party. Lieut H.B. Carter admitted Field Ambulance.
23 Weather fine. Company relieved the 5th Cdn M G Coy in the Laurent Sector during night 23/24th July. [O.O. No. 73 Attached] Relief was held up for a time by Hostile Shelling. Relief complete by 2.30 a.m.

25 Weather fine. Company holding positions taken up. 22 000 rounds indirect fire on selected targets in LENS. Minor repairs made to emplacements and dugouts. 8 O.R's reinforcements arrived.
26 Weather fine but cloudy. Company holding positions taken up. Headquarters dugout hit by 5.9 shell necessitating a move of 250 yards to new dugouts. 180 000 rounds S.A.A. placed in battery position dumps. 20,000 Rounds Indirect fire on selected targets in LENS.
27 Weather cloudy with showers. Company holding positions taken up. Company building battery emplacements for coming attack. 29,000 rounds indirect fire on selected targets in LENS. Lieut. C.V. Williams granted 10 days leave to England.
28 Weather cloudy but fine. Company holding positions taken up. The O.C. Major A. Eastham proceeded on course of M.G. Work at CAMIERS and Lt. E.R. Robison assumed command of the Company. 37,000 Rounds indirect fire on selected targets in Lens.
29 Weather showery. Company holding positions taken up. 32,000 rounds fired on selected targets in Lens. 70,000 rounds S.A.A. carried to gun positions. Work on new alternative emplacements.
30 Weather showery. Company holding positions taken up. 40,000 rounds indirect fire on selected targets in LENS. 80,000 rounds S.A.A. carried to gun positions. Lieut. W.G. BROADBRIDGE reported for duty from the 15th Cdn M.G. Coy on being posted for duty with this unit.
31 Weather showery. Company holding positions taken up. 75,000 rounds S.A.A. carried to gun positions. 15,000 rounds fired on selected targets in Lens.
