Weather fine. Coy relieved by 4th Cdn Machine Gun Coy. [O.O. No 60] After relief Company moved forward in support of 31st and 27th Bns with 8 guns. Barrage guns, 8 in number, moved into selected positions and commenced to build emplacements.
2 Weather fine. Company at work on positions. Major Eastham proceeded to the transport lines sick and Lieut Robison. Mobile guns holding line positions and crews of barrage guns digging pits and bringing up ammunition.
3 Weather fine. Company took part in attack as follows. 2 Mobile guns under Lt. Dickie moved forward with the 27th Bn. 2 guns under Lt Waddington moved forward with the 31st Bn. 4 Guns under Lts Carter and Wallbridge were in Reserve at Vancouver Road T28. 8 Barrage guns under Lts Hardiman and Williams kept up indirect fire in accordance with Corps Scheme. Lts Carter and Wallbridge took up two fresh gun crews owing to Casualties and damages and rearranged section. Lt Carter did exceptionally fine work. Sgt A. Surtees was killed.
4 Weather fine. Guns holding positions in line and Barrage guns firing. 40 000 rounds of ammunition carried up. Lt Waddington was severely wounded. Pte J.D. Braynion was killed.
5 Weather fine. Guns holding positions. 40 000 rounds ammunition carried up. Lt. J.W.V. Dickie slightly gassed.
6 Weather fine. Guns holding positions. 40 000 rounds S.A.A. carried up.
7 Weather fine with several showers. Guns holding positions. Evening 7th orders for relief received and during night 7/8th the 4 mobile guns were relieved by the 4th Cdn M.G. Coy. [O.O. No 61] The Barrage guns withdrew with Batt. at dusk to the Farbus-Vimy Rwy Embankment.
8 Weather fine. On completion of relief the Mobile guns moved to dugouts in the support area. [O.O. No 62] Immediately on arrival orders were received to "Stand Too". Sections were at once rearranged and reinforced and at 2 p.m. moved back into the line taking up a position 300 yards in front of the Farbus-Vimy Rwy Embankment. These guns were under command of Lts. Tucker and Downing. The Barrage guns moved into position in SASKATCHEWAN ROAD T29a. All guns passed under command G.O.C. 4th Cdn Inf Bde. During the night 7/8th the transport under A/Cpl Morrison did exceptionally good work in bringing up ammunition and rations under very heavy shell-fire both high-explosive and gas shells. 5 men became casualties from gas and all the party were suffering more or less from the effects of gas but succeeded in getting in the full supply of S.A.A. rations and water.
9 Weather fine. Guns holding positions taken up. 24 000 rounds being fired. [O.O. No 63]
10 Weather fine. Guns holding positions. During night 9/10th the 8 mobile guns under Lts Tucker and Downing were relieved by 8 guns 5th Cdn M G Coy. Relief complete at 1 a.m. (11th). Lts R.H. Locke and T.A. Potts wounded.
Aux Rietz 11 Weather fine. On completion of relief Company moved into Rest Area near Aux Rietz. Company went into action 230 strong all ranks and had 30 casualties all ranks. Muster parade held. All ranks present and accounted for. Company was also bathed and paid.
12 Weather fine. Company was paraded to Gas School to have Box Respirators inspected and changed. No. 4 Section furnished 2 guns for anti-aircraft guard at Aux Rietz Corner. Sections rearranged and stores inspected. VICKERS MK I Barrels and Muzzle Cups exchanged for MK II.
13 Weather fine and hot with showers towards evening. Company preparing for the line. In evening company relieved 5th Cdn M.G. Coy as follows. No. 1 Section relieved a section 5th Cdn M G Coy in Main Resistance line, No. 2 Section relieved a section 5th Cdn M G Coy in observation line, Nos. 3 & 4 Sections relieved sections in Support Area NEUVILLE ST VAAST. [O.O. No 64]
Watling St 14 Weather fine. Anti-aircraft station placed at A4 a 6.3. Nos. 3 and 4 Sections moved forward to main resistance line.
15 Weather fine. Company holding positions taken up.
16 Weather fine. Company holding positions taken up.
17 Weather fine. Company holding positions taken up. Lieut LESLIE WITHROW joined company.
18 Weather fine. Company holding positions taken up. Lieut. William Leech Hardiman slightly wounded. Still at duty.
Thelus Cave 19 Weather showery. Company was relieved by the 4th Cdn M.G. Coy. on the night  19/20th. [O.O. No 65] 2 Sections of Company were relieved by 2 Sections 4th Cdn M.G. Coy. in Ridge Line and Observation Line. Upon relief these sections moved forward and relieved 2 Sections 5th Cdn M.G. Coy in the Forward Area.
20 Weather fine. During night 20/21st two sections 4th Cdn M.G. Coy relieved two sections 6th Cdn M.G. Coy East of Railway. Upon being relieved these sections moved into forward area and completed relief of the 5th Cdn M.G. Coy.
21 Weather fine. Company holding positions taken up. 1000 rounds fired at low-flying planes. Major A Eastham granted 30 days leave to England. Lt Robison assumed command.
22 Weather fine. Company holding positions taken up.
23 Weather showery. Company holding positions taken up. 1500 rounds fired at low-flying planes.
24 Weather fine. Company holding positions taken up. Lieuts HARDIMAN and WITHROW with 4 NCO's proceeded on Course Revolver Shooting at Camblain l'Abbe.
25 Weather fine. Company holding positions taken up.
26 Weather fine. During night 26/27th 2 Sections (Nos. 1 & 2) were relieved by 2 Sections 4th Cdn M.G. Coy. [O.O. No 66] Upon relief these sections moved to Rest Area. Relief complete by 3 a.m.
Aux Rietz 27 Weather fine. During night 27/28th Nos. 3 and 4 Sections were relieved by two Sections 4th Cdn M.G. Coy. Upon relief these sections moved to Rest Area. Relief complete by 4 a.m.
28 Weather fine. Company moved to New Billeting Area ¾ mile S.W. of former area. Muster parade held. All ranks present and accounted for. Company was bathed and paid. Company was inspected on Parade by the O.C.
29 Weather showery. Company cleaning guns, checking spare parts. Company inspected by O.C. Lts. Hardiman and Withrow returned from Course Revolver shooting CAMBLAIN L'ABBE.
30 Weather showery. Company Transport inspected by the G.O.C. 6th Cdn Inf Bde on parade ground Brigade Headquarters at 11 a.m. The Company was inspected by the G.O.C. 6th Cdn Inf Bde on Company Parade Ground at 3.30 p.m.
GOUY
SERVINS
31 Weather fine. The Company moved to GOUY SERVINS via VILLERS AU BOIS. [O.O. No 67] Company accompanied by the transport paraded at 10.35 a.m. marched off at 11 a.m. and reached GOUY SERVINS at 2.15 p.m. Company immediately proceeded to billets. Remainder of day spent at rest.
