Weather fine but cold with heavy wind. Company resting in billets and at training. Physical Drill, Gas Helmet Drill, Cleaning Guns, Ammunition etc.
2 Weather cloudy with showers and high wind. Company at training as follows. Physical Training, Map Work and Adjustment of Sights for Direct Fire. Lt. W.F. Tucker proceeded on Course Corps Gas School.
3 Weather cloudy with snow and high wind. Company at P.T. Gas Helmet Drill and Route March. Lieut. H.J.L. Pearce returned from leave.
4 Weather cloudy with rain and high wind. Company at P.T. and Map Work. Web equipment exchanged for leather equipment. All revolvers except those carried by Coy Sgt. Major, Sergeants Nos 1, 2 & 3 of gun teams, signallers and 50% of Range-takers were turned in and Rifles (Short Lee Enfield) with short bayonets issued instead.
5 Weather cloudy with heavy wind. Company at Training. P.T. Manual of Arms, Indirect Fire, Gas Lecture.

8 Weather cloudy. Company at P.T. Route March in Full Marching Order, Gas Drill, Gun Laying and Indirect Fire.
9 Weather fine. Company at P.T. Manual of Arms and Revolver Drill, Lecture on Low-Flying Planes and Intelligence. Afternoon devoted to sports.
10 Weather fine. Company at P.T. Church Parade. Afternoon to sports.
11 Weather fine. Company at P.T. Route March, Manual of Arms, Gas Helmet Drill.
Marqueffles

12 Weather fine. Company paraded at 9.45 a.m. Marched off at 10.a.m. Cross- Country to Marqueffles Farm via ABLAIN. Reaching Camp at 12 noon. Transport moved off at 9.30 a.m. via Gouy-Servins and Bouvigny reaching camp at 12.45 p.m. Muster Parade held at 3 p.m. All ranks present or accounted for. Weather fine. Company scrubbing huts and cleaning clothing and equipment.
13 Weather fine. Company cleaning clothing and equipment.
14 Weather fine. Company cleaning clothing and equipment. Drill as follows. P.T. Gas Helmet Drill, Manual of Arms.
15 Weather fine. Company being Duty Company, all available men were employed on Battalion fatigues.
16 Weather fine. Company at Drill. P.T. and Gas Helmet Drill, Manual of Arms, Mechanism and Stripping.
17 Weather fine. Company bathed and at sports.
18 Weather fine. Company attended Battalion Parade at 9 a.m. Training as follows. P.T. Gas Helmet Drill, Manual of Arms, O.C's inspection. Lecture on Mechanism.
19 Weather fine. Company being Duty Company, all available men were employed on fatigues.
20 Weather fine. Company at training. P.T. Gas Helmet Drill and Inspection, Battalion Parade, Manual of Arms, Lecture on "Allocation of Duties", Nomenclature of Spare Parts, Mechanism, Immediate Action. 1 hours' Route March.
21 Weather fine. Company at training. P.T. Gas Helmet Drill, Battalion Parade, Squad Drill with arms, Lecture "Reliefs & Sentry Orders." 10.30 a.m. Mechanism and Immediate Action. Lecture on "Tanks" at 2 p.m. by O.C. 7th Tank Bn. Lt. Claude Vivian Williams reported on being posted for duty 19/3/18 (Auth. Cdn. Corps. A2563 of 20/3/18).
22 Weather fine. During night a "Stand-to" to move at 1 hours notice was received. The O.C. and 2nd in Command with available Section Officers proceeded to look over a new area. Company preparing for a move.
Villers au Bois 23 Weather fine. At 9 a.m. Stand to orders called for move at 15 minutes notice. Company being duty company were employed at Fatigues and cleaning up camp generally. Company paraded at 4 p.m. Marched off at 4 p.m. and proceeded to Villers-au-Bois via Bouvigny and Servins. Camp was reached at 7.30 p.m. and Company remained for night.

Coy Lines
24 Weather fine. Company paraded at 7.45 am. And embussed in camp at 8 a.m. then proceeded via Mt. St. Eloy, La Targette and Aux Rietz to billets at A.22.c.6.4 near Lens-Arras Rd. arriving at 11.30 a.m. Transport moved by road following same route, marching off at 7 a.m. and arriving at noon. During afternoon Section Officers explored Line and Positions.
25 Weather fine. Company standing to preparatory for move. A/Major C.V. Grantham proceeded to join 1st Cdn. M.G. Bn on posting. Lt. Richard Edmunds reported for duty on Posting. A/Capt. G.W.H. Millican assumed command of the Company.
26 Weather fine. Company standing to from Reveille at 4.30 a.m. Company remained at Stand to till 9 p.m. when company paraded in full marching order. Moved off at 9 p.m. and gradually joined the 2nd Canadian Division on the line of March.

27 Weather fine. Company marched during whole night via Anzin-St. Aubin, skirting Arras and striking the main Arras-Doullens Road at Dainville thence to Beaumetz and proceeding to Berles-au-Bois via Bailleulval and Bailleulmont. Company was settled in billets by 6 a.m. After resting some hours Company stood to for a move if nevcessary.
28 Weather fine. Company stood to. Company was inspected for arms, equipment and gas helmets.
29 Weather fine. Company standing to. In evening the Sections moved to positions in Purple Defence Line with Headquarters at R.18.a.3.2. Transport Lines remaining at Berles-au-Bois.
30 Weather showery. Company holding positions taken up. Situation very quiet.
Bretencourt 31 Weather showery. Company holding positions taken up. Situation quiet.
  Transport Lines moved to Bretencourt and were settled in billets by 11 a.m.
