Church Gresley, Saints George and Mary
This is an ancient parish, with registers dating back to 1574.
The parish includes:-
- the townships of Church Gresley and Drakelow;
- also included the Chapel of Ease at Church Gresley, Holy
Trinity 1903-1934;
- originally included most of the townships of Donisthorpe
and Oakthorpe, until 1838; (see Oakthorpe &
Donisthorpe Parish Pages)
- the township of Swadlincote until 1849;
- and the townships of Linton and Castle Gresley until 1984.
