[Text of Will]
In the name of God Amen I John Tetley the younger of Repton in the county of Derby yeom Do make this my Last Will and Testament in manner following that is to say First my mind and desire is that all my just Debts which I shall owe at my decease be well and truely paid and to that end and purpose I charge my my whole Estate both real and personall with the payment of the same Item I do hereby give and devise unto my Kinsman Ralph Haywood all my Lands and Hereditaments situate lying and being in Repton aforesaid tohold to him and his Heirs In Trust never the less that he or they by leaseing mortgageing or absolutely selling the same or such part thereof as he or they shall think fitt raise and pay the sum of fifty pounds (and all interest due or to grow due for the same) unto Thomas Fisher and for payment of which sum the said Ralph Haywood stands engaged with me and from and after that Debt paid then as to the rest and residue of my said Land that shall remain unfold or the residue of the money ariseing by Sale thereof  (after the said Debt discharged) I give and devise the Same unto my Son John Tetley and his Heirs Item I give unto my Two Daughters Mary and Jone Tetley and unto my Son William Tetley the sum of fifty pounds apiece to be paid unto them when they shall attain their respective ages of One and Twenty years which said Legacys I appoint to be raised out of my Personall Estate And my mind and will is that in case they do not continue to live with their mother that then they shall have and receive interest for their said Legacys for and towards their maintenance and Education And in case any of my said three children shall happen to dye before her or their Legacy or Legacys of fifty pounds become due and payable then my mind and will is that the Legacy or Legacys of her or him so dying shall go to and be divided amongst my surviveing Children Item as to the residue of my personall Estate after my Debts Legacys and funerall Expenses are paid and discharged I give the same unto my loveing Wife Mary Tetley and I do hereby nominate and appoint my said wife Mary and Ralph Haywood aforesaid Executors of this my Last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this Twenty Fourth day of Aprill Anno Dom 1729

Notes from Lorraine Marshall:  John Tetley was buried at Repton 29th April 1729 (5 days after making the will!).  I believe he was baptised at Repton 17th July 1685, son of John & Mary Tetley.
