[WILL]
In the Name of God, Amen. This is the last Will and Testament of me William Gough of the Sale in the parish of Alrewas in the county of Stafford Yeoman being xx infirm but of sound disposing mind memory and understanding. As follows. First I will that all my just Debts and Funeral Expenses be justly and honestly paid out of my stock and personal Estate and Effects and after payment thereof then I Give Devise and Bequeath the remainder of all my said stock and personal Estate and Effects and also all that my Messuage or Dwelling House situate and being at the Sale aforesaid and now in my own holding and possession with the Outbuildings Croft Garden Yard Orchard and Appurtenances to the same, Messuage or Dwelling House belonging to my well beloved wife Elizabeth Gough To hold to her my said wife and her assigns for and during and until the full end and term of her natural life and from and immediately after her decease then I Give devise and Bequeath the remainder of all my said stock and Personal Estate and Effects and also all that my said Messuage or Dwelling House Outbuildings Croft Garden Yard Orchard and Appurtenances at the Sale aforsesaid to my son John Gough his heirs and Assigns for Ever. Subject to this my Will that is to say that in Case my said son John Gough shall die without Issue lawfully begotten before he attains the age of twenty one years then I Give Devise and Bequeath the said remainder of all my Stock and Personal Estate and Effects and also my said Messuage or Dwelling-house Outbuildings Croft Garden Yard Orchard and Appurtenances at the Sale aforesaid to my son George Gough and Daughters Elizabeth Bakewell Ann Wootton and Catharine Bakewell. To hold to them their Heirs and Assigns for Ever to take as tenants in Common and not as joint tenants. I Give Devise and Bequeath All that my Piece or Parcel of New Inclosed Meadow Land lately Inclosed out of an Open Meadow called or known by the name of Longlake Containing about two acres and a half be the same more or less with the Appurtenances to the same belonging lying and being within the Manor or Parish of Alrewas aforesaid to my said son George Gough. To hold to him his Heirs and Assigns for Ever Subject to and Chargeable with the payment of One shilling to my Daughter Elizabeth Bakewell Thirty pounds to my Daughter Ann Wootton Thirty Pounds to my Daughter Catharine Bakewell and sixty pounds to my son John Gough aforesaid xx The Legacy to paid within one year after my decease - I Nominate Constitute and appoint my said wife Elizabeth Gough and sons George Gough and John Gough Executrix and Executors of this will hereby revoking all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made and do declare this only to be my last Will and testament.

In Witness whereof I the said William Gough the Testator have sit and put my hand and seal this seventh day of May in the year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight hundred and Twenty-two 1822.

Let a Probate of this Will be granted to Elizabeth Gough Widow and George Gough the Executrix and one of the Executors a Power being Reserved for John Gough a Minor the other Executor to prove in like manner.
They being first duly sworn and also that the personal Estate of the deceased did not amount in value to the sum of 100£

Appeared Personally  Elizabeth Gough of the parish of Alrewas in the County of Stafford Widow and George Gough of the same parish Farmer the Executrix and one of the -------
Executors  named in the last Will and Testament of the said William Gough ------- late of the parish of Alrewas -------- in the County of Stafford Yeoman --------- Deceased; and made Oath, that the Estate and Effects of the said Deceased, for, or in respect of which, a Probate of the said Will ------- is to be granted, exclusive of what the said Deceased may have been possessed of, or entitled to, as a Trustee for any other person or persons, and not beneficially, but including the Leasehold Estate or Estates for Years of the Deceased, if any, whether absolute or determinable on Lives, and without deducting anything on account of the Debts, due and owing from the said Deceased are under the value of one hundred ------- Pounds, to the best of these Deponent’s knowledge, information and belief.
