VOWS ARE PLEDGED

Wedding vows were exchanged by Miss Mary Louise Briggs and Dennis
Mark Ashby Saturday evening at Faith United Methodist Church. Parents of the
couple are Mr. and Mrs. Eugene A. Briggs, 1470 N. West St., and Mr. and Mrs.
Mark Ashby, 328 Tulsa, Carpentersville.
The double ring ceremony was read for the couple at 7 p.m. by Rev. Terry
L. Clark, after guests had been seated by David Hilman.
Mrs. Donna Schofield was matron of honor and Larry Safiren of Carpentersville,
best man.
Mrs. Jean Safiren, sister of the bridegroom, was at the guest book for the
reception which followed in the church parlor. Gifts were arranged by Miss Peggy
Ashby, sister of the bridegroom.
Miss Ashby, Miss Debbie Means and Ms. Rebecca Miller shared serving
honors.
Following the reception, the bridegroom's parents were hosts for a dinner at
Harbor Lights Supper Club for the couple and members of the wedding party.
Mrs. Ashby is a junior at Knox College, where she is majoring in creative
writing, and is employed in the Domestics Dept. at Belscot Family Center. Her
husband is employed as a yardman by Koppers Co., Inc.
The couple will reside at 708 N. Cedar St., following a wedding trip to
Wisconsin. ⁶³
