     Mrs. Sarah Ann Brien, wife of Henry Brien, died at 7 o'clock Tuesday at her home, 33 Wallkill avenue, after a lingering illness in the fiftieth year of her age.
     Deceased was born in the town of Warwick Feb. 2, 1853, and was a daughter of Jacob and Kizah Babcock, both deceased. She was married Dec. 27, 1871, to Henry Brien, who survives her with two sons, Harry and Eddie, both at home. She is also survived by four brothers, Charles R. and Erastus R. Babcock, both of this city; Martin and John Babcock, of Illnois, and four sisters, Mrs. Frank Drew, of Chester; Mrs. W. L. Montross, of Ramsey, N. J.; Miss Alice Babcock, of Kingston, and Miss Martha Babcock, of Willard, N. Y.
Deceased was a devoted wife and mother and a devout Christian, being a member of the First Baptist Church of this city.
The funeral of Mrs. Henry Brien was held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon from her late home, 33 Wallkill avenue, Rev. J. G. Hendrickson officiated.
     The pallbearers were Dwight Babcock, William R. Phelps,  Alfred Pratt and James O. Clark.
