Will of Mrs. Anne Smith 1753
Essex County, Virginia.
Will No. 9. page 256.
"In the name of God Amen I Anne Smith of the parish of Soouth Farnham in the
County of Essex being sick and weak of body but of sound and disposing mind and
memory do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following.XXXX
Imprimis I give and bequeath unto my three grand
Children Vizt Mary Young, Fanny Young and
John Young Sixty Pound Curr't Money to be equally
Devided and paid them when they arrive to the lawful age of Twenty one years.
Item I give and bequeath unto my son Samuel Smith all
that he is Indebted to me of what nature or kind soever. Item I give and
bequeath unto my son Samuel Smith Two feather beds and twelve head of sheep.
Item I give and bequeath unto my son John Smith all the
rest and residue of my Estate of what nature or kind so ever unto him and his
heirs forever.
Lastly I do appoint my son John Smith my whole and sole executor of
this my last Will and Testament willing him to pay all my just Debts and
Legacies above mentioned and tose (sic) the same duely performed Utterly
revoking all other Wills and Testaments declaring this my last Will.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 27th day of July
1753
