Mary Beach was born in Stratford, Fairfield, CT on 19 Jan 1676. (1) She married the widower, Josiah Curtiss, about 1697. (2) His first wife had just died and he had three children under the age of 4. Mary raised those children and had ten more children with Josiah Curtis in the course of about 17 years. Her husband died in 1745 at the age of 83. She lived another fourteen years and died in 1759, also as the age of 83. She wrote her will on 13 Apr 1757 and it was proved on 10 Mar 1759. She left 5 shillings to each of her own eight living children. To her unmarried daughter, Mehitable Curtiss, she left the title to a piece of land. (3)
