Some family trees have Silence Brockett born on 04 Jan 1647/8. She was
baptized in New Haven on 3 Jun 1648 to her father, John Brocket. (1) When
her father wrote his will in 1690, John Brockett named his daughter as Silence
Bradley leaving her a quarter of his moveable estate. (2)
Silence was married
to Joseph Bradley by Mr. John Clark of Milford on 25 Oct 1667 when she was 19
years old. (3) They had six children. Her husband, Joseph Bradley wrote his will on 4 Dec 1704 when he was 58 years old. He left
his dear and loving wife one third of his estate. He did not name his wife
by name in this will, but when he mentioned his son Samuel, he was bequeathing
to Samuel after "his mother's decease." This indicates that Silence was
alive when his will was written. (4)
