Abraham Brokaw was born about 1760 in Hunterdon County, N.J. and married
Elizabeth --, whose identity has not been established. In a deed dated April 27,
1795, Abraham Brokaw, Jr., and his wife Elizabeth conveyed land which had been
deeded by his parents, Abraham Brokaw, Sr., and his wife Elizabeth, to their
sons Peter and Abraham (Hunterdon Co. Deed, v. 28, p. 19). He lived in Amwell
Township, N.J.

"Abraham Brokaw was born in Hunterdon co., N.J. and was living there, in 1795
when in a deed, dated Apr 27, 1795, he and wife, Elizabeth, conveyed land which
had been deeded by his parents, Abraham Brokaw, St. and wife, Elizabeth, deeded
their sons Peter and Abraham; at that time they were living in Amwell township,
Hunterdon C. (Hunterdon co. Deeds, v 28, p. 19) Identiy of Elizabeth wife of
Abraham, Jr. not been established. Maria Brokaw married Adam Young, and
Elizabeth Brokaw married John J. Young, both of whom were of Amwell, as shown in
the following: Administration was granted on the estate of Abrham Brokaw,
brother of Maria, Elizabeth and Anna, June 4, 1814, to John and Jacob J. Young.
(Hunterdon co. Adminis. v. 1 p. 158.) and a deed of May 18, 1816, recites that
Abraham Brokaw, Jr. died intestate and that his property descended to his
sisters Maria, wife of Adam Young of Amwell; Elizabeth, wife of John J. Young of
Amwell and Anna, wife of Michael Higgins. (Hunterdon Co. Deed, v. 26, p. 69.)
