Daniel Buckingham | see FAMILY TREE | |
Born: 1636 England | ||
Married: 1st to Hannah Fowler on 21 Nov 1661 Milford, New Haven, CT 2nd to Alice Newton about 1690 |
The Buckingham Family by F. W. Chapman, 1872, pg 14
says that the first wife, Hannah Fowler, died June 24, 1667 and that Daniel
Buckingham remarried to Alice Newton who was the mother of the last
six children. Inscriptions of Tombstones in Milford by Nathan Pond, 1889 refers to Gideon and his brother John as being sons of Alice Newton. Rev. Roger Newton by Caroline Newton, 1912, pg 11 says Alice Newton married Daniel Buckingham when she was 25 and she never had any children. That would make her marrying about 1690 after all the children of Daniel Buckingham are already born. Alice was born in 1664 and was not old enough to have given birth to the children. Families of Early Milford by Susan Abbott, 1979, lists all the children as having been born to Hannah Fowler. When Daniel Buckingham died his will lists Alice as his beloved wife. |
