It is generally accepted that this Nicholas is the same one that was baptized
in Nazeing, Essex, England though several books say this is not proven. He came
from county Essex , to this country possibly in 1631 onboard the ship "Lyon"
with his wife, Sarah and John Eliot.. He was at Watertown, Massachusetts , for a
time, then at Wethersfield, Connecticut , and in 1639 appears at Guilford,
Connecticut . As early as 1646 he had a house, lot of six acres, one right and
two parcels, in Milford, Connecticut . His name is on the list of free planters
of Milford dated November 20, 1639 where he had lot 50. He joined the church 02
Nov 1643. The Widow Camp was given his seat in New Haven Meeting House 5 Feb
1656.
