 Like his son John, William Coddington Sr. was from Coleby, Lincolnshire, England.  He was born about 1505, married about 1528 and died in 1576.  He wrote his will on January 2, 1576 and it was probated on May 22, 1576.  In his will he mentioned his sons  John, Edmund, Christopher and Thomas. (1)  In the will of his son John Coddington, John named his brothers, Edmund, Christopher and Thomas. All of this proves that William Coddington Sr. was the father of John Coddington. (2)
