Theophilus Feild was a very successful Prince George County merchant who invested in a lot of land in Prince George and other nearby counties. One of his land records was in 1728 when he was named as Theophilus Feild of Elizabeth City, VA buying land that abutted the land of Richard Vaughan. (1) His father-in-law, Richard Vaughan, wrote his will in Jan of 1748 in which he mentioned his daughter, Susanna Feild. (2) He was also a vestryman of Bristol Parish from 1729 until his death in 1769. Theophilus Feild wrote his will on 13 Sept 1768 naming his sons, Theophilus, James and Thomas Feild. He also mentioned his grandson, William Temple, who was under 21. His named daughters were Mary Taylor, wife of Richard Taylor and Sarah. His will was presented in court on 12 Sep 1769.
