Mentioned in his father's will as the eldest son. Thomas served in the Parliamentary Wars in England and traveled to America with his mother and two of his brothers, Dec 1638. He was one of the founders of Norwalk, CT in 1650 and was well known, very wealthy and intelligent man. Freeman 1657. He was confirmed by the court as Recorder of Laws 26 Feb 1659 and King's Commissioner in 1669, an office which he held for twenty five years.
The will of Thomas Fitch was made 6 October 1694, proved 19 May 1704,
at Fairfield, Connecticut. In it he names his daughter "Mary, wife of Capt.
Matthew SHERWOOD (CT Probate Records, Vol. 1, p. 167).
