HARRIS, PETER, of New London, early Harries, descended from Walter,1 who came to
America in the ship William &. Francis, in 1632.* He at first settled in
Weymouth where he remained about 20 years. A house lot, on application, having
been granted to him in Pequot, now New London, he removed thither in 1652, and
was soon after chosen to keep an ordinary. He died Nov. 6, 1654, leaving a wife
Mary, and sons Gabriel* and Thomas.* His wid. survived him but a short time, and
his son Thomas probably died at sea still earlier than the father.
