Mary Ann Herron was the oldest child of Andrew Herron and Lydia Warren. She
was born in Mr. Pleasant., TN on 24 Nov 1832. (1) but moved to MS when very young. Her mother,
Lydia, died in Marshall Co., MS when she was about 12 and her father remarried
the widow, Mary Whitehead, when Mary Ann was about 13. Sometime after her
father's second marriage they moved to Seguin, TX. By the time was was 18
she was married to Richard John Coorpender since the 1850 census shows that they
were married. According to oral history, they may have married 24 Dec 1848 in
Holmes, MS.
In late 1865 she and her husband were sureties for her brother,
P. L. Herron who was the administrator for the estate of their father Andrew
Herron, Jr. (3). She had 9 children, with the last being born about 1873.
Her husband, Richard John Coorpender, died sometime before 1888. She died
16 Jan 1907 in Seguin, Guadalupe, TX. (1)
