He was made a freeman in 1669 in Wethersfield, Hartford County, Connecticut.
He was made a freeman in 1671 in Middletown, Middlesex County, Connecticut. He
was named in church records of the First Congregational Church, Middletown,
Middlesex County, Connecticut, on 24 Oct 1671, when he was received into
membership of the Church. The record reads: Beeing the Lord's Day, John Hollibut
was received a member of this Church in ye state of Innitiation plighting the
Covenant and consenting to sho confession of faith before ye Church. His child
likewise by name, John, ye same day received the Innitiatory Seal of ye Covenant
Baptism. He appeared on a tax list as a landowner in 1673 in Eastbury,
Connecticut. Tax of 5s 4d. He died on 30 Aug 1690 in Middletown, Middlesex
County, Connecticut. Town records say he d. 30 Apr 1690 but Probate Court
Records give the August date. The Hurlbut Genealogy says those records are
probably more reliable than the town ones. His estate was inventoried on 9 Sep
1690 in Middletown, Middlesex County, Connecticut. His widow, Mary, and Capt.
Nathaniel White were appointed to administer the estate. Since there was one
child yet unborn the court ordered that "there shall be no distribution now
made." He had an estate probated on 19 Jun 1696 in Middletown, Middlesex County,
Connecticut. The estate was distributed.
