Hope Lathrop was born 15 Jul 1671 in Barnstable, MA. (1) He married his 1st cousin once removed, Elizabeth Lothrop,  on 17 Dec 1696 in Barnstable. (2) They had their first four children in Barnstable.  In 1726 he purchased land in Tolland and the other eight children were born there. (3) Hope wrote his will on 6 Mar 1731/2 naming his wife, Elizabeth and sons: Benjamin, Ichabod, solomon, Melatiah, Joseph, John and Ebenezer.  He left his four daughters his moveable estate plus: Rebeckah Lewis £10, Elizabeth Lathrop £30, Mary Lathrop £30 and Sarah Hammon 10 s. The will was probated 25 Nov 1734. (4)
