Lucy, born in Green Valley, California, on 15 Aug 1939. (1) She moved with her family to Chile when she was 18 mo's. old. At the age of 5 she moved to Tampico, Mexico where her father was the manager of an oil company. Through her older brother she met Jack Brooke who used to come to Monterrey to visit once in a while.
Lucy went to nursing school and continued to know Jack as a friend of her brother's. He used to fly a crop duster by her school to impress the girls. After nursing school she worked in a hospital in Temple, Texas. Jack was in the hospital regularly visiting his mother who was a patient there. They started dating and were married in 15 Aug 1939 in San Antonio, TX (2)
The family moved to Monterrey, Mexico in 1946 where Chuck and John grew up.

Lucy died in Napa, CA on 17 Nov 1999. (3)

Simplicity and beauty charaterized the wedding Saturday evening of Miss Lucy Shaw, daughter of Mr. and Mrs., J. L. Shaw of Monterrey, Mexico, and Chase Jackson Brooke of Houston son of Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Brooke, of Rosita, Mexico.  Rev. John Rideout read te marriage line at 6 o'clock before members of the families and a few close friend at St. Mark's Episcopal Church.

Mrs. Jack Shaw, sister-in-law of the bride was the only attendant. She wore a dark blue crepe dress with a large laghorn hat and carried a corsage of Rhubrum lillies attached to her handbag.

The bride wore pale blue lace.  Her hat was a small togue of sapphire blue velvet and she carried a brocaded hanbag with a spray of lily-of-the valley attached to it. 

Mr. and Mrs. Brooke left for the fair in San Francisco and upon their return will make their home in Houston.
