In  "A History of Simcoe County" by Andrew F. Hunter, 1909, there are three men named Shaw listed as settlers to Innisfil  before 1837.   John, Robert and Joseph Shaw were listed in Concession 8 with John on lot 19 and Robert and Joseph on lot 20.  They are most likely three brothers.

John Shaw's oldest daughter was Agnes Shaw born about 1841.  Agnes married Erastus Bell around 1860 and is living in Lockport, Niagara, NY in the 1860 NY census.  The next listing on the census page is for a Robert Shaw, who was born about 1812 in Ireland.  It may be that this Robert Shaw was her uncle.  Joseph Shaw is named Joseph Harper Shaw when his son William Harper Shaw was married.  It seems more than a coincidence that Robert H Shaw has a son named "Robert Harper Shaw."

The Robert Shaw from Lockport, NY was married to a Sarah.  In the 1860 census record he is listed as a mason with real-estate valued at $1500 and personal wealth of $400.  By 1870 he a stone mason with real estate valued at $2000 and personal worth of $500.  In the 1866-7 city directory, Robert Shaw is listed as a mason living at 43 Allen, Lockport, Niagara, New York. The last listing for him is the 1876 City Directory where he is a mason living at 53 Allen.  By the time of the 1878 city directory his wife is listed as "widow."

The naturalization record for the Robert Shaw of Lockport says he immigrated to the United States in 1829 which would mean he left Simcoe, Canada well before the 1837 listing for "settlers of Innisfil before 1837".  Also, the Lockport Robert Shaw was born 7 Jun 1811 which would mean he left his brothers to immigrate at the age of 18.  He may not be the Robert Shaw of Innisfil.

In 1970 his granddaughter recorded these records:    https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Shaw-6975
