With his brother Victory, Increase contracted to build a barn, 52 by 24 feet
for Major John Pynchon in Springfield, MA.
On 23 Nov 1670, he agreed to carry down the Great River (Connecticut) to
Hartford for John Pynchon, his corn & barrels next spring. Increase Sikes became
a Freeman 7 May 1684 in Springfield, MA. He was a carpenter, farmer, logger, and
laborer, regularly in the Pynchon's employ.
