"He graduated from Yale in 1753. He studied medicine, and later theology. He was licensed to preach by the County Association of Ministers of Windham in May 1765. He was commissioned Ensign 1777-1778. He served as Lieutenant in Capt. Knowlton's company, Israle Putnam's 3rd Connecticut Regiment. He received the M. A. degree from Dartmouth in 1779."
