Anne Young

Anne was born in Seguin, Texas. on 14 De 1880. (1)  After the financial setback of her parents she moved to Clifton, AZ and helped her mother run a boarding house. She was the third oldest of 9 children so a lot of the responsibility for the care of the younger ones fell upon her.
Anne never received much formal education but she worked and helped the younger children go on to college.
She married Chase Jackson Brooke on 21 Mar 1914 in Clifton, AZ.  (2)

Ann wrote many letters to her siblings and cousins.  Living in Rosita, Mexico she was cut off from much of her family except for when she came to Seguin or San Antonio for visits.  In her letters she often writes of her poor health.  She wrote frequently to her brother Field living in Clifton, AZ.  After he lost his job in 1939 she sent him checks of $10 or $15 on a regular basis.

Anne died 4 May 1959 in a nursing home in San Antonio, TX. (3)
