Stephen Williams1

M, b. between 1575 and 1585, d. 1625
  • Stephen Williams was probably born between 1575 and 1585 at Norfolk, England.
  • He married Margaret Cooke, daughter of Nicholas Cooke of North Repps, co. Norfolk and Winifred Webster, at St. Nichols at Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, England, on 22 September 1605.2
  • Stephen Williams died in 1625 at Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, England; from the plague.2
  • Administration of Stephen Williams's estate was granted on 29 October 1625, granted to Anne Williams, "natural and lawful daughter of deceased" (Norwich Archdeaconry Court).2
  • Citing an article from the Boston Transcript, 9 Apr 1906, Harrison Williams tells us that Stephen, his wife and their son Thomas all died of the plague in 1625 and were buried within a few days of each other. His searchers in Norwich found an entry in the Norwich Archdeaconry Court 29 Oct 1625, "Admon. of the goods of Stephen Williams late while he lived of Great Yarmouth dec., directed to Anne Williams natural and lawful daughter of dec." An indenture of apprenticeship found in Norwich of his son Nicholas shows Stephen to have been a cordwainer.2
