  • He married Mary Peck, daughter of Joseph Peck and Abigail Baldwin, at Milford, New Haven Co., Connecticut, on 20 January 1746/47.2
  • Hezekiah Clark died circa 1776.1
  • "Some New England Families: Clarke-Kellogg," Vol.2 (1922) p.10, states that Hezekiah Clarke joined the army, died of malignant dysentery, and was buried at Bethany; and that his widow married William Kenney. These statements are probably based on similiar ones in an earlier genealogy of this branch of the family by Albert Clark (1877). In 1776, Stephen Matthews of Waterbury, while serving under Col. Herman Swift "gave receipts for sundry articles of arms and accoutrements, the property of the towns of Waterbury, New Haven and Derby; that other soldiers armed and equipped themselves; that during the campaign sundry soldiers died and others were dismissed and their arms retained in sevice; and that there had been unavoidable loss of some of the articles; and he requests the Assembly to make good the loss." One of the items is, "to Hezekiah Clerks heirs...1 Gun 1 Bayonet."
Administration of his estate was granted to his widow Mary, the first Monday in November, 1776, and she filed an inventory, 2 Dec 1776. The inventory calls him "Ensign." The net estate was small and the Court ordered a third set to the widow, and to each of the eight youngest children.3
